I'm a 72 yr old man in Eastern Ont. I have never missed one of your videos and so glad you are a fellow Canadian. I am awestruck by the challenges you set for your self and complete I was a General contractor most of my life and know the ups and downs you set for yourself. I currently live with my 61 yr old wife of 43years and 3 years ago moved my now 76 year old sister who had some challenges of her own ( had to put husband in nursing home on account of dementia and I knew she would be in a financial strain and we had the room. I was born and raised on a 100 acre farm with 5 sisters and 4 brothers so I understand the labor involved. And you are so right about the daily exercise. You two are awesome and am very proud of you, GOD bless you both.
@stephenkennedy7931 brother, im glad you wrote that comment. Life is about working hard, thanking God for helping us through hardships, praying daily for help, healing, wisdom, ... and many dont see it these days fit to pray at home at least. I know that religion has become a tool of discontent and division nowadays, but....what matters is to keep our Faith in God and pray daily. I usually like to tell people not to be religious anymore, but to be faithful to God. Many young adults, and even elderly dont have God in their homes anymore because Religion has proved to be a tool of the devil ..But I dont know why many believe in tarot card readings, and psychics , and dont believe that God also exists in the spiritual realm. Many things will start happening in this world soon, and so many dont see it coming. Stay blessed Stephen.
I work from home which is very isolating. I do love hot running water and having fast internet, but I am stuck, yes stuck in a big city with noise. I love where you live, your videos, your puppies, your trees, your giant solar trees, your determination to just get it done. Look forward to seeing your bright faces every week. Thanks for a wonderful video, much love to you all in your snowy forest home.
Okay, that scene with Jazz sitting alone in a chair talking about Isolation was Pure Genius and very Touching.. You ROCK Jazz! great moment you shared with us. Both Jazz and Chrystal are amazing Talents and personalities. We are so lucky to be the ones who discovered their channel!! :)
I agree that it really brought home the message about loneliness. My wife and I live on a farm with few close friends around after our recent move. It works for 'us' but not sure how it would work for the lone survivor years from now. I did expect the psychology telehealth group that have promoted to sponsor that portion of the video.
I choose to live my life online too and you girls are a big part of my week! I’m a 74 year old female who lives alone in eastern NC. Having been here for over 20 years I will apparently never get over all that’s wrong with this place as I am an African American from Manhattan. Spending time with you two beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and courageous young women is a highlight of my week!!!❤❤❤❤❤
@Michael Bryant I had to live with my adult son for a while after he was hit by a car on his mountain bike and as much as I love him it was very difficult at times. You are a good person for helping out with a place to stay.
@sundanceks l am 68. I have lived alone for 4 years. Currently brothers family living with me. Being alone sometimes is ok. Hope you find the happiness you deserve.
Long-time subscriber, first time commenter, ancient fart of a bloke, truly appreciate the hard work that goes into not only living your dream but the effort you put into sharing it. The filming, editing and story-telling has been getting ever more sophisticated and compelling over the years. Congratulations, thank you, and long may it continue - the sharing with us, and your happiness being together and with your chosen path.
Isolation and lonliness comes in many forms and mental health awareness still has its misconceptions. Thank you for bringing it up this episode. I love how you all bounce off one another and keep yourselves entertained on top of staying busy! You two are brilliantly inspirational. ❤
@Vanwives Psalm 91 guys...it helps a lot too ( along with physical exercise and outdoors activities) So..Psalm 91 starts with " The one who rests in the shadows of the Most High God, will be kept safe by the Almighty./ I will say about my Lord that He is my place of safety, and my fortress, He is my God in Whom I trust." God bless.
Yes Arlene, it is a very important topic and one that must be discussed more on so many levels. We appreciate your kind words they are heartfelt. We are honoured to have you in our community. 💛🐾
I totally get the difficulties that come with isolation. Since I got sick & became housebound I've become isolated. One reason I watch a lot of YT, you see real people living real lives, familiar faces. You may not interact in the same way as you would with friends etc but it reminds you that life is still going on, even hearing other voices chatting- isolation can be really quiet without adding background noise. Lovely video ladies, your editing skills are on point!
Same here! Chronic illnesses that keep getting worse are making me stay indoors more than I would want to. At least we have these ladies and other you tubers to help with that
Same. Thank you for saying what I feel so succinctly. It's lovely to know that even in the isolation of chronic illness, we aren't alone, joining here, every Sunday to watch Jaz & Crystal live lives we wish for. Love to all of you! ❤️
Same. Was bedbound for two years, now mostly housebound and youtube and channels like this, have kept me going. I honestly don't know how I would of stayed sane without them.
I look forward to your videos on Sunday but I think this video touched alot of us with your honesty about isolation and feeling alone. Thank you for always delivering a genuine message to your pack 💖
I am so moved by your confession of isolation Jazz and Crystal. It’s truly inspiring what you do and how far you’ve come but honestly, it takes amazing resilience and a deep true bond like yours to be able to make it. Keep on keeping it real, and much love 💕
Thank you for addressing loneliness - reading the comments definitely makes me feel less isolated. Recently having moved back to my small hometown after 20 years and beginning the off-grid journey is tough as a single person. You're both so inspiring and have fostered such an amazing community
You two are just wonderful and amazing. I can’t believe how much you’re both accomplished in only a year. Seems like I’ve been watching way more than that
I am blown away by the accomplishments since the start of this cabin build! You two AMAZE me!! The amount of time and effort you put into not only your home/land, the KZclip channel as well!! It is truly a beautiful way to start my Sunday!! Also, It can be hard to combat loneliness. Even surrounded by a city full of people. You’ve found your tribe. I hope this channel encourages others to find theirs as well so the world can feel a bit less lonely for them as well❤ 🐾 ⬆️
I love in the city and am single. And have been single almost 8yrs. It took me awhile to be ok with being alone. I have my furbabies and comfy now with just them. Now I love my alone time, I enjoy the silence and peacefulness of being alone. My daughter, 25, lives with me but she has her life. So she's rarely home until bedtime. So I may only see her for 10 mins a day. So I do understand the solitude. You girls are amazing. I love watching the videos and see how real and down to earth you both are. Keep cherishing EVERY moment together and each other. Sending lots of love to this community and to you both and your furbabies❤️🐾
Do you have any veggies growing in the green house? The next shed or long shipping crate will be homes for the motorized equipment so you can use them readily. We are all out here wishing we could come visit. Your fans send love.
I have wondered about the isolation and am grateful that you named your experience. You have seemed fullfilled and content that I wondered if or how the long-distance social connection affected you. Don't get me wrong, you still seem fulfilled and content, but an unknown is now known. As many others have said, isolation isn't limited to backcountry living. It is apart of many frontcountry lives, including my own. In a way, my backcountry time and feeling of connectedness when I backpacking or canoeing solo through remote wilderness is something I miss and cannot emulate in the frontcountry. I appreciate you and your willingness to share your lives. Grateful to be part of the pack (que woof).
Thanks pack. I’m single live in a small town. Been here for 6 years. I produce music at my home studio and often feel isolated due to the fact that I don’t work with anyone and am still gathering friends. So….being with you weekly is so good! Having lived off grid previously I feel I know you and have more in common than some of my community. Thanks for sharing your lives with us!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@Robin Mink WOW!!! Great song….I’m in tears!! You have a beautiful voice!!! You’re so gifted please keep sharing your gift with the world!! We sure need it right now!!! 💙💛
@Robin Mink yes I would sit and listen to her play piano & sing for hours. I miss her! Thank you for sharing where to find your music I’ll definitely check it out😊
You forgot to add that there's really no hard timelines except for seasonal chores and submitting your videos of course. You've put together are real bush paradise and should be proud (very proud) of yourselves. You really aren't alone at all with all of us viewers watching every week, even as far as Australia where I'm from. Take care you two and stay safe.
Another great video girls. Loneliness is the worst for sure. I lived very remotely for years...I know. I'm proud of you for being honest with everyone and most importantly, yourselves. Crystal, Jazz keep it up !! There is a lot of people here and we are all for you. Until the next video...Crystal, Jazz, Bella, and Issy PAWS UP!!!!!
Jazzy you're the best 💕💕💕. Speaking about mental health and isolation is so central to life. I'm a recovering cocaine addict, clean over 5 years, and beginning to see how isolating that choice was. I also agree I feel like I know you both. Your channel is my Sunday wakeup. And, your editing etc has grown so much, your drone game is 😍 amazing! Have a great week... John
@johnmccabe7645 stay strong in your personal relation with God Almighty. Religion is no good,....but your one on one relation with God will give you more breakthrough and protection. Especially by reading or listening to some of the Psalms daily. God bless! #jesuschrist #savior #endtimes
Hey John!! Thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself! Good for you! Glad you could also relate to our message. Have a great week see you next Sunday 💛
I just want to say THANK YOU!! for sharing you life's with me. I'm almost seventy years old and I have out lived everyone in my family. I have been living alone for eight years and totally get exactly what you saying. You can live alone and not be lonely, & have a healthy body and mind. For me many hobbies and some faith!! Thank You ladies!! aw-woooooooo
I forgot to add...the chair talk was extremely important and addressed in an honest conversational manner. I loved it. And being totally transparent, I also loved the walking away and dragging the chair. Kinda added to the point of the conversation and cute too. Be blessed TJ & Loki 🐾
The Chair Talk @ 20:50 is video gold. Between the snowplow, chickadees, and anti-brush barking, I can’t decide what is 2nd best part of this video, but The Chair Talk gives us all the feels, for sure. You guys are so awesome.
See "atcolinandpage" for the original Chair Talk. Colin is a friend of theirs, and has done two Chair Talks, in the woods, one of them with the Vanwives.
Addressing desolation and loneliness was a very moving but essential point. It's part of that drastic life change, and you handled it well, Jazmyn. I also feel that I'm part of your family, making me happy that you think the same.
Awesome video ladies , what hit me the hardest this week on your video is loneliness. After moving into a lake front property with 2 acres almost 2 years ago and working from home as a financial advisor that loneliness started to sink in about a couple of months ago. The only thing that keeps me going is faith and my dog but other than that, that's it. lost most of my friends due to COVID or other illness within last 3 years. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your home and your crazy adventures that makes us all smile and always looking forward to watching your videos every Sunday. Thank you for being awesome!
You girls are such an incredible inspiration.(this coming from a 64 year old man) Y'all just throw yourselves out there and share it so effortlessly. Thank you for your precious time and making the world just a little more enjoyable for "The Pack"! Blessed be ✨️
Thanks for your honest view of what it’s like “off grid”. Myself and my wife are in Spain and while we are learning the language it’s still mainly the two of us and we can understand a little about isolation. It will get better but especially in winter it can be lonely. Connecting with you both makes it a little less lonely. Thank you
This is your first winter at the cabin. Usually you go to some distance southern beach town. It’s got to be very different then what you’ve been doing. I can understand your messages this episode about off grid living and loneliness. I am sincerely proud of you four! It’s got to be a 180 degree change. 8 more weeks of winter! Keep your heads up! 🎉
Isolation among the elderly is prevalent. You two have each other and the great dogs. I am thankful to share my views with you. What a great home place you are creating. Thanks for sharing and your kindness.❤
Hey Crystal and Jaz, thanks again for a peek into your lives. Highlights: your voiceover dubbing when the mic went down; Bella and Izzy enjoying the snow and being B&I (my dog hates the vacuum cleaner like Bella hates the roof snow removal); managing to convey lots of information in an entertaining manner; Crystal whistling at the birds; Jaz talking about isolation and how to combat it; the coziness of your cabin. Be well and see you next time.
I moved from a large town almost a year ago to another state, on one acre, in a fixer upper home, where I am 10 miles to the nearest town...your right the first year is the hardest. I am so very proud of you girls, for your hard work and perseverance. You keep me inspired and encouraged. I look forward to your videos every week. You also help to make my little world less lonely..
Another brilliant video and it’s made me feel glad for the likes and the comments to add to your feeling of connection. It’s the theme of our children’s mental health week next week and you’ve really added to my thoughts about what makes good connections and the importance of knowing what works for each of us as individuals. Have a fab week xx
Bella barking at absolutely everything is basically my favorite. Excellent video, Happy New Year. Way to come in strong with some terrific storytelling.
Always look forward to watching your videos on a Sunday and thank you for allowing us to have a glimpse into your off grid lifestyle and see not only the fun side but the hard work that goes into being so isolated from society but at the same time so at peace with where you live. Look forward to next Sunday ladies xx🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Hello Debra, your kind words warmed our hearts. Thank you for supporting us. We are so happy to have you as part of our community. See you next Sunday.💛🐾
Thank you so so much for your videos! Last year was really hard for me cause I live in Ukraine as all of my family. So watching your videos, your energy and enthusiasm in overcoming every day struggles, your highs and lows, your openness and honesty became so helpful for me to get through my hard times. Love you and always waiting for new videos from you!
Blessings to you. 💕 Slava Ukraine ! 🇺🇦. Your country is in my thoughts and prayers daily. Now I can add your name to those prayers. 🙏. Please take care.
The most challenging would be running out of supplies and not able to drive a few miles to buy what you need. Another challenge would be isolation. Thank you for sharing with us your experiences. I look forward to watching your vlog every Sunday. You both amaze me in all ways. You are pros in editing and your amazing ability to tell your story in a style unlike I have ever seen.
Loneliness is a huge problem, I now realise, and the more so as we get older (I'm 77) so exercise, good health and and community are so important. You guys and your videos make a huge difference too so love and thanks from here in the UK!!
I’m glad to watch another good video from you two (or four)! It helps me to start the week on an upbeat note and encourages me to not be afraid to pursue the life I so earnestly desire, no matter what barriers appear along the way. Thanks for the good information about what off-grid living is and that there is not one way to do it. As you encourage all of us, continue to encourage each other. We are all a family. We are all a pack.
Simply say I love the show today. Including the part about loneliness. I live in a town I have family that lives around. But I’m still lonely. Keep up the good work girls
Same issue here, Harvey...Live in the middle of the city, yet I'm lonely. Not all the time...but being older, I don't put myself out there. I enjoy having a few solid friends that a see once in awhile, than being surrounded by people in my life.
If I was still on my off grid, secluded, no WiFi, Island property, I’d have never found you two! So happy to follow your journey. Thank you for your inspiring, amazing, fun videos❤❤❤ Sumi says woof to Bella and Izzy and she’s enjoying being in a colder climate. Blessings and much Aloha 🙏💜🌎☮️🌎💜🙏🐾🐾🌈🌈🌈
Hello Barbra and Sumi, we are so happy you found us. We always try to keep the fun in everything we do. Bella and Izzy send a big wood back. We are sending love from our pack to yours.💛🌞
You're probably going to have excess power in summer, so you could use a small induction cook-top for those months for cooking. It helps to lower the need for propane, but also helps to keep the place cooler.
It's glad to see you ladies enjoying your wonderful life..I wish I had thought of it 30 years ago...im 61 and a widower but y'all energize me on nearly every episode
Another great video. Your videos always touch nearly every single emotion we feel as humans. The one thing I love most about you both is how you approach challenges with a positive attitude. Jazz is right, attitude matters. Thank you both for always putting out quality work. Bye, Pack!
You’ve accomplished so much, learned so much, it’s truly impressive! But your videography skills are next level in my opinion. In the beginning you were cute and awkward and now you’re both so thoroughly entertaining. Even when you’re educating your audience you’re entertaining us. I appreciate this aspect of your videos as much as I do learning how to install a roof. Anyone can record something and post it on KZclip, what you guys do is far beyond that. It’s a joy to watch you grow, thanks for including us!❤
Over the years that I have been following, your camera work, editing, and story-telling skills have developed in a phenomenal way. I love watching you! ❤😊
I concur. Real pros. Love your hard work and positive attitude. A question though, without diminishing your merits, again, you are great, but could we have a general idea of the cost factor of the stuff you are using ? The batteries farm, the gigantic solar panels etc. .. that must represent a nice sum.
Great video girls. I’m glad you allowed us to share in your story and to be part of your lives. Loneliness is my biggest concern for myself since my plan is to be remote and off grid in New Brunswick. I guess we’ll see what happens. Love you guys ❤
Jasmine, you brought me to tears talking about isolation and loneliness. You are a great individual and fantastic partner to Crystal. Admire the amount of work you both accomplished over the past years iv3 followed your channel. Please continue to enjoy the simple pleasures of your lifestyle!
An unusually good episode, showing how you cope when things don't go as planned. Really appreciate Jazmyn's soliloquy about isolation! This episode showing the work you have to do every day to make your life work is very helpful!
You girls are killing it. Redefining off-grid and meeting all of the challenges. Most of the obstacles you have conquered would have defeated me in a New York minute. I'm only one of over 325 thousand fans and yet you frequently make me feel special with your personal replies. I love you so much. 🌈💖🧡💛💚💙💜💋
Really enjoyed this week’s in review video! Showing us how living in the middle of the winter can be fun too 😊. Really appreciated your discussion about isolation and loneliness… it is such a real thing for so many of us… thankfully we have the PACK … till next week
Love the quick-paced visuals. Lots of variety. After putting up the ceiling boards you might want to monitor the temp differential between the roof air space to the ceiling and the indoor temp. Reason - moisture buildup on the upper ceiling causing mold. Spray foam insulation may be the barrier needed to prevent this moisture buildup.
Good points on the evolution of off grid living. I'm on the grid with my homestead, entering into my fourth year it's been a journey to establish it, but as a medically high risk person, and new to the community just as the pandemic started, I have very few local connections and a lot of the isolation factors. I couldn't make it without online life and connections. You two have been soooo helpful even if you don't know it. Your channel is a great inspiration. Thanks for making all the videos that you do.
Thank you for another week of great content, you both make it look so easy even as you tell us the hardships of living off grid. We used to live in northern New Hampshire for a decade and got to the point of where we couldn’t do the long winters and isolation anymore. We weren’t off grid but the snowy season started mid October and didn’t leave until mid April,or so with some years going into May. Enjoy this journey for as long as you can and thank you,for taking us along with you. God Bless you both!
Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I love watching you figure out how to do everything, and nothing seems impossible for you two. You’re also such a lovely, genuine couple (and of course love those dogs too!). One can feel isolation anywhere-thanks for sharing about that-and it’s part of the dance of life to find community in new ways. Brava to you for doing just that. Wishing you the best from NYC.
You guys have accomplished so much and you are doing it so well. Always stay in touch with your loved ones and take a trip now and then and you will be fine. Still so much to do, so keep up the good work girls. We are here for you. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I'm a widowed 77 YO male and live by myself with my dog, whom I rescued three years ago. I can see where isolation can be the most challenging part of living off-grid or even alone on-grid. You have each other and a loving respectful relationship as well as your two dogs. Luckily I have family nearby and my dog. You ladies make me smile every time I watch you. ❤
I just turned 60,and have no tribe. I have a daughter 30 min.away, that's it. I feel isolated on a daily basis an it sucks. But watching these 2 help me tons.
Those lucky pups are living the doggy dream along with you. 💖🐶💖🐶 Your meal looked delicious!!! Yes. Isolation is challenging when living off-grid or alone. You make me feel connected and give me adventures to look forward to each Sunday. 🤗❤️🎶🇨🇦
Hello Kerry, the sure do love their life of no collar no leashes and just being able to roam the land. Our dinner was so good. Thanks for being a part of our pack.💛🐾
This video hit a spot in me this week. When I started watching your channel, it was a bit for motivation and empowerment, yes, but it is a LOT for nostalgia.... This challenge you are choosing to take on I think is badass and amazing especially because you are learning it as you go with just yourselves. But for me, these things that you are choosing, was a pre-established routine that i was born into. I grew up knowing nothing else and had little choice in the matter so I was constantly chasing more convenience as a measurement of my success. Check, done...... Now I miss it, I miss the comforts and satisfaction, I missing having the freedom and resources to just do whatever i could think of with my own two hands. I did have so many resources (oh boy, after moving the city and not just having any tool at my fingertips was an eyeopener.) Having to be resourceful in every aspect of my life made me confidence and made me creative as well. I miss the pure fun and pride i see you both share with us each week. I am not currently content just seeing nature occasionally, I miss being a part of it. But I also can't get myself to make the choice to sign on for all the work that i fought so hard to not *have* to do. So I watch you do it instead. I feel very connected with you both for that reason. My specific hard moment in this weeks video was when you mentioned choosing to connect with your access to the internet. "Could you imagine not having [this]?" Yeah.....i can.🥲I never had access to the internet until I moved to a city. It hurt more than I would like to admit that you have that as a choice. and when i sat on the real reason why it wasn't that you do have this choice. Its realizing that i do too.....that maybe my tetter-totter from what I miss nostalgically and why i left it are no longer so either-or as i thought any longer.....maybe I could have both. That was a particularly difficult realization that I will have to truly sit with for a bit. But hard or not, I feel like this is a particularly meaningful moment for me and I just thank you both for sharing your journey with us, letting me in and share that nostalgia, and I hope you can truly enjoy what it is and why you are doing it, because you at least look like you love it. and i am selfishly really proud of that.
Wonderful letter to the Vanwives here. Yes, technology has changed so much in such a short time that things that were impossible just a few years ago are now seen as common place. I so respect your statement about ‘sitting with it awhile’ in your new observations. You are fortunate in having seen both sides of the coin. Sending you all the best vibes possible for your future and all the choices presented in that future. 🙏👍. (There are so many options in the ways we can live our lives! We definitely need more than one lifetime. ☺️)
I've been a part of your pack for years. Even know I enjoy every minute I'm unable to be a patron. I'm so grateful for your videos. I can't wait to see what you're all up to each Sunday. Thank you!
Another great video! Sometimes isolation and boredom go hand in hand and you guys energize me to do more stuff and keep busy! Love our Sundays! Thanks for sharing!
You two are so freaking entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for the practical insights in this vid. You guys are one of the content creators I look forward to each week. Thanks for being so genuine.
Truthfully it seems like we have nothing in common. And yet, you really feel like friends. I so look forward to my visit with you each week! I am awestruck at all you are able to accomplish and inspired by your determination and sheer willpower. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Physically I can't do much to help you other than maybe bake you some cookies, but I would love to join you some quiet evening curled up with the pups, just chatting or even reading books side by side. Sitting in your living room on a cold winter night just seems like it would be blissful and cozy and purely enjoyable. When you start to feel lonely, remember those thousands of followers also consider ourselves as friends. We wish you the best and we love you . ~a grandma in Ohio
Love spending Sunday mornings with you both. Your honesty about isolation, although it may seem romantic, is spot on. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Just curious, how far are you from Tyler and Todd?? do you visit often??
Hello, we are honoured you are spending your Sunday morning with us. Isolation is real, thanks for understanding our message. We wish we did see our bf Tyler and Todd more often. See you next Sunday.💛🐾
What a perfect example of loneliness-that was brilliant 🥲! I relate so very much. We raised our children on a farm at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Between the kids the animals and a few distant neighbors, I very seldom got lonely. However, I’m now in my 70’s, and we got a little 118 year old farm in the Smokey Mountains quite a ways out of town. We heat our house with wood and cook with propane. Without my kids grandchildren and neighbors, I do get quite lonely. You girls are angels. This episode was fun and so encouraging. THANKYOU from the depths of my heart😌🙏❣️
As I senior living alone in a crummy city with no friends and no one special to share my life with I spend far too much time online, both working on my website business, chatting and watching too many movies, but the best part of my week is catching up with you two delightful girls. I am constantly amazed at what you've accomplished. Love ya!
I lived off grid for 8 years and you are right, isolation is a big deal. Welcome in so many ways but also harsh at times. I’m not off grid now but the way I live now is most often very much like the way I lived off grid. You learn so much when you live off grid, including exactly what you do and don’t need to survive and be happy.
I wish I could remember when I started watching you. About 2.5 years ago? Your journey in life has made me feel more capable on more than one occasion! I can hardly believe what has unfolded on your channel. Each week I look SO forward to your video. I am floored that you now have over 300K subscribers! I am 65 years old and just geek out on your accomplishments. I love that you feel SO FREE as OUT lesbians! Just being YOU! When I was coming out it wasn’t so easy, my friends. Your channel name says it all. Be out and proud! Live your best life! I love you both so much and I don’t even know you! It’s SO WEIRD 😂. By the way, your home is beautiful! ❤
Like many have stated here, I also struggle with isolation daily. I look forward to your videos every week as they do take the edge off. Keep up the great work.
Crystal & Jaz, it works the other way has well, you make our lives a little less lonely. - I will always trust your honesty in all things, I can't wait until you have all the power you need, and you will still a backup if needed. Love from Mike. ❤❤
Love what you girls are doing. You may see more Canadians go this route with everything that has changed within our country. I’m a very proud Canadian and believe that through all of our challenges we will learn how to keep our beautiful Canadian ways alive. Good job ladies. You give me hope. Thank you for that.
Thanks for sharing the reality of off-grid living. I've been watching since you started turning your cabin into a home. You have evolved from pretty basic to getting to a point of real comfort. This video showed that being comfortable off-grid involves a lot of thought, effort and commitment. Congratulations to the two of you for accomplishing so much.
Thank you both for sharing everything you do and giving us the opportunity to experience most of it with you. Look forward to new adventures every Sunday.. Thanks again for sharing and continue in the life style you both love. Stay warm up there....
You can live in the middle of a big city and still feel isolated. I've lived in the UK for 38 years in the suburbs of London, living in my current house for 32 years and I get on with my neighbours, but if I died in my house, it would take them about 3-4 weeks before they would realise they hadn't seen me for a while. That's really sad and that's with neighbours that I get on with. Others pass me in the street and never even say hello. I'm planning on moving back home to Ireland hopefully later on this year. I have 8 good friends I've known since I was 12 (I'm 60) and when I see them it's like we saw each other last week and you can't put a price on that kind of friendship. Can't wait to move and start a new fresh episode of my life for the next 20 years
LOVE THIS EPISODE!! Keep on doing your thing ladies! The chair - all alone in the woods was beautiful! Your reflections and introspection are so commendable! Feels like a true ‘speakers corner’ - out in the woods! Love that you talked about isolation - and what works for you both in tough times. Keepin’ it real! 💪🏻👏🏻 …can’t wait for the coming weeks vlogs! 😉🥰
I have an off-grid house here in Finland where the main goal was comfort, just without being connected to any utilities. For all intents and purposes, the house has all the modern comforts you would expect from a house, with washer/dryer, dishwasher, flushing toilet, shower, etc. - it's just done without any utility connection. As you said - it's a spectrum, and some of the gate-keeping you find in some off-grid communities can be off-putting. Go with what your definition and goals are, and you'll be fine.
Great reality check, I actually feel sometimes I'd be the perfect candidate for off-grid living I'm an introvert and being off-grid and remote where I don't have to make excuses to not be around others would be awesome. Don't get me wrong I love spending time with my family but I am happy as a clam at home on my own. Like right now my daughter is out with her bf my bf is out with his sister it's just me and the puddy cats and I'm a ok with that :) It's so amazing to look at how far you girls have come with the cabin I love watching the progress.
You ladies inspire me. I’m almost twice your age. I especially love that you addressed the isolation factor as it’s easy to just think about the ups but not the Dow s of off grid living. ❤
I always look forward to your videos. But I enjoyed this one even more! It really shows the reality and diversity of possibilities for off grid living. And it shows how far you have come. Really and truly inspiring!
Great episode today. Its just amazing to watch the two of you challenge yourself every episode, you guys can do almost anything and it’s so impressive. Thanks for sharing your lives and keep it up.
So proud to be considered part of the pack!!!❤❤❤❤ Watching loyally from Reno, Nevada and so miss you all when you take your much needed down time. You two are the epitome of strength and perseverance, true adored pioneers of the norm!❤❤❤❤
Another incredible video...and I can't agree more with you both. This lifestyle is fun yet incredibly challenging. It is not for everyone. However, I love nature and being a part of something so grand and beautiful as the outdoors. My wolf hybrid Loki like Bella and Izzy enjoys the openness and freedom. As I have shared in the past, I have purchased 253 acres between Sedona and Prescott Arizona. I have learned so many lessons from your videos and have adopted many in my projects. Isolation is a concern that most people will never truly understand until they live out this lifestyle but I have put several things in place to reduce my concerns. But staring into a beautiful night sky with more stars than you'll ever imagine put our place in the universe into perspective. I do have one question for you...do you have any concerns regarding wild animals? We have the usual cute deers, elk and small adorable rabbits, lizards and varieties of birds. But since we are semi forested in the high country, we also have bears, coyotes and mountain lions. Oh yeah, the rattlesnakes too. Just curious. Can't wait for next weeks episode. Enjoy and be blessed. TJ & Loki 🐾
I love watching your videos ladies! The puppies are adorable too! Been watching for a few years now and am always excited to see what y’all do next! I have similar weather to you as I live in Maine, so I feel your pain with be snow and plowing! Haha ❄️ Happy winter! Spring is coming 🍃 🌸
I miss your travel days! I am just as excited what you two are doing to have this wonderful place you call home. I enjoy your weekly journey in the woods. You make this place YOU and it shows. I LOVE IT! (hugs) to you both.
You all are very special! Your content is so authentic, relatable and inspiring and is presented in a way that is fun and uplifting while still conveying great information!
Hey Jaz & Crystal, Bella & Izzy, great video, Jaz I especially loved the scene set up for the Isolation segment, and thank you for bringing that up. So glad you’re making your own definition of off grid in 2023. Snow plowing looked incredibly fun. I’m in Australia so have only experienced snow a handful of times. Thank you for sharing your off grid journey with us. 🪶🤍😀
Ya'll did great on your voiceover work, engine sound effects made us laugh also..We enjoy watching the work that your doing on the cabin and the land but today's video was extra special because you both showed us a little bit of the human side of living off grid...Very well done and look forward to next weeks video.
I absolutely admire all the adventures and hard work you both have been thru to establish your deep forest home. But I believe you must add another area in your planning to make sure everyone survives the challenge of off the grid living. Granted you've established an awesome green house and outdoor garden beds but I think you should look into how to stockpile food resources just in case several of your systems go down at the same time and you are not able to leave your cabin or property. Most off grid dwellers throughout history establish a storeroom where they establish a food pantry of preserved foods to ensure that all on the homestead. Have a safe food source that is available when everything else used up in a time of high need for whatever reason. This involves establishing a root cellar and learning how to can some of your vegetables and fruits. The practice is called canning and storage in glass jars and/or food grade buckets for storage of grains, pastas , dry dog food extra coffee and any other fresh and dry goods that are used regularily. This could be the top priority to ensure your family survives the challenge and all have good food to eat regularly. Because in this world you just never know when things move to the bad side of a situation. You also store up seeds to replant your gardens for the next year. Please look into this and make a store room for survival food. Or you can buy survival food from one of the survival food companies that pack up food supplies that are good for 25 years. I just thought I would add another safety fallback to your long term plans. Hope this helps you all safeguard your future.
You are so right about isolation. I’ve lived a year on an acreage by myself. The first few months were great, but this winter I’m feeling the isolation big time. Enough that I’m thinking of selling and getting into a small village somewhere. 😢
I seriously wish I knew how you guys afforded this so I can do it. You got so much added I wonder how much it all cost only because I’m trying to save to do the same for my family. You guys are awesome !
That bit at the end was the most important part thanks Jazz. I live off grid in Aus and building my own home, it's tough at times but the loneliness is the toughest.
Love my Sunday morning with the pack. Very good video. Shows just what it takes to survive the elements and what you have thus far accomplished in the cabin. Well done ladies!
Great video again gals. Especially the bit about isolation. I often spend time at my cabin alone. It's made tolerable by my trusty Westie, Zoe. You have accomplished so much this year, it's incredible.
I love the chair monologue. I think it's one of my favorite things you've done. What I think is ironic is that you might be less lonely in the woods than some people in big cities!
Hey Ladies, I always look forward to seeing you're content. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Seeing you guys with you're "Can do" attitude, and sunshine glow. I know there must be sometimes when you don't feel like glowing, but showing you're positivity inspires us all. Thanks for another great peek into your lives.
We’re you expecting the reveal at the end of the video? What do you think would be most challenging about living off the grid? 👀

So sweet of you to take your sister in. Bless you.

I live in western nc!! ...... Love these girls so much
@Michael Bryant I had to live with my adult son for a while after he was hit by a car on his mountain bike and as much as I love him it was very difficult at times. You are a good person for helping out with a place to stay.
@sundanceks l am 68. I have lived alone for 4 years. Currently brothers family living with me. Being alone sometimes is ok. Hope you find the happiness you deserve.
@Suzy Lewis It’s astonishing, isn’t it?
Adriawa Evans, I completely understand.... You are NOT ALONE❤️ SENDING YOU PRAYERS OF LOVE AND COMFORT ❤️🙏❤️🙏
Yes you are absolutely correct! It seems so many relate and connect to this message all over the world 💛
I totally get the difficulties that come with isolation.
Goodness.
I'm not alone?
I could have written this about myself, but you have done it so well. Thank you.
I look forward to your videos on Sunday but I think this video touched alot of us with your honesty about isolation and feeling alone. Thank you for always delivering a genuine message to your pack 💖
You guys are totally raising the vibe of this planet! One video at a time. Amazing! ❤️
Thank you 💛💛
I am so moved by your confession of isolation Jazz and Crystal.
@scottsheck it's actually been a year-and-a-half. I think I heard them say they moved in there in July 2021.
You two are just wonderful and amazing. I can’t believe how much you’re both accomplished in only a year. Seems like I’ve been watching way more than that
Kevin from Campervan Kevin says you need to have a backup to your backup to your back. Another words a plan B and a plan C AND a plan D!
I hope this channel encourages others to find theirs as well so the world can feel a bit less lonely for them as well❤
🐾 ⬆️
I love in the city and am single. And have been single almost 8yrs. It took me awhile to be ok with being alone. I have my furbabies and comfy now with just them. Now I love my alone time, I enjoy the silence and peacefulness of being alone. My daughter, 25, lives with me but she has her life. So she's rarely home until bedtime. So I may only see her for
10 mins a day.
Concur on loneliness in suburbia/city. Until you find your tribe, and yourself, it can be lonely.
@Robin Mink you’re very welcome!! Reminded me of my gram which was quite ironic since we were discussing her! 😇moment!!
@Lynette Agueda Thanks Lynette…I’ll do just that. I’m glad the music touched you. Blessings💚🎶💚🎶💚
Yah five years! Good for you John
Hahahaha awwww love hearing all your highlights! Thank you for watching 💛
Blessed be ✨️
Aren’t they awesome?! Yes they are. Great energy and editing.
Aww Chick, thank you for your heartfelt kind words. We are grateful to have you in our pack. See you next Sunday.💛🐾
The message on isolation was so special. Thank you for recognizing the need for connection to others as a vital part of our lives.
You don’t have to be living off grid to suffer from isolation. I suffer with it and it is hard. Thanks for bringing it up
The most challenging would be running out of supplies and not able to drive a few miles to buy what you need.
Glad we could connect and you relate to our message 💛

Thank you so much JP!! We remember your comments from the early days 💛
"Could you imagine not having [this]?"
Yeah.....i can.🥲I never had access to the internet until I moved to a city.

Oh Lola Nelson, you brought tears to our eyes. You are so sweet and we are happy to have you in our community.💛🐾

Absolutely love checking in with you girls every Sunday. And I love that you addressed “all” of the off grid *things*. Much love to you both ❤
Love what you girls are doing.
Great episode. You girls have come a long way in what seems like a short period of time at the off grid cabin. So much work!! 👍
I love this video so much- from the voice overs to the heartfelt chat with Jazmyn. This is one of your best! Keep up the amazing work! Sending 💛💛💛

Haha ❄️
Happy winter! Spring is coming 🍃 🌸
You are certainly not alone you have all of us behind you all the way xx
Can't wait to see the bedroom transformation. Sounds like a great Winter indoor project to me. Stay toasty Ladies.
So fun to watch you two . You are also a good team like Todd and Tyler. Thank you for sharing !

You both are a breath of fresh air and the positive vibes you both emit is both wonderful and amazing … what more can I say… love you both ..!!
