You can't cancel a man who makes his money out of being against most of how society works . If they try to cancel him he'll come back with a series of jokes that cancels the one who tries to cancel him and people will still buy tickets to see him because his audience is on his side. He's already rich and has a big audience of people who share his point of view. You can only cancel someone who basically "lies" to their audience , presents themselves as being in a way then the cancel society shows everyone who they really are. With Ricky people would do nothing but laugh at the attempt
@Marty Key 3 years, 7 years, 11 years, 12 years and 13 years ago.. Yes those were the days when it was interesting to watch.. I don't think there's a certain timeframe when something is allowed to be referred to as "Those were the days" 🤣 But apparently there is, so please enlighten us??!! 🙅♀
Most people felt visibly uncomfortable with the bare truth spilled right into their faces, but I loved how well Scorsese, Streep, and Dicaprio took his jokes. 👌🏼😄
Marty Scorsese - a director most of those people would kill to work with - was laughing the hardest, even when he was the butt of the jokes. Class act.
@AlexandreG All of you try to make it look like the ones you liked laughed a lot and the ones you dont like didnt. But the truth is you havent got a clue. Only very little footage of reactions from the audience. Thats the truth. So stop all your judgemental garbage toward others.
@Dave W He's an a-hole in real life and just as entitled as the rest, just because he's saying something that makes you feel better about being on the outside looking in doesn't make him a saint
@Steve not everyone can be successful and rich. The point is that Ricky doesn't preach to anyone, doesn't make himself out as a martyr as so many of these luvvies do.
@usagi18 indeed that's the key.....to comedy. Being victimised by famous pedophiles isn't funny. He's drawing attention, with laughs, to a situation most people and most famous people avoided totally.
You can see who was personally offended and who was laughing along. It does speak volumes when he is calling them out for some awful shit, it's almost like admitting he's right
Hi shixins I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
3:38 Listen to that whole crowd's reaction to a joke that is the absolute truth. Ricky Gervais is an international treasure and a gift to humanity I swear. Especially because he used plugging his show (which is actually really damn good) as a way to make a joke that's actually carrying with it a very truthful statement, one that was and still is being covered up to this day. The crowd reacted the same way about virtually all of his "jokes" about how they're all predators.
Ricky, always a master at telling it like it is. So witty, funny and original. Love you Ricky, keep up the good work with your animal charities. Some of us have a sense of humor and can appreciate your unique and brutally honest humor.
Hi Sonia I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. @Southern Born okay but he's a sick individual, he's no hero for saying this stuff he's just for once speaking truth. Only to confuse us. This man sold his soul to become what he is
@Austin Paquin I can assure you that I’m awake. Ricky Gervais didn’t become a celebrity in the US Hollywood system. He also didn’t get famous until he did a lot of work in England, I believe he was in his late 30’s. He uses his earned money for his projects, producing, acting, and directing them himself. His Golden Globe monologue was priceless. And he is still famous after he did it. He is still producing HIS work.
I remember being told that having a tight grip of morality, often makes you right…but having a tight grip of reality makes you honest! That’s exactly the philosophy I get from Gervais. Love it, and him 😂😂😂
Dead right. but I mean people do shameful things. I like people who admit their wrong/did a wrong. Over people who don't admit it anyday (but that scales from level of seriousness of what they did). This is what rly pisses me off though. people who know did a wrong but no apology, no nothing, not even any self accountability/honesty, no self aware/honesty. you know what I do with these people, I treat them like nothing.. nothing on earth, not even a cup of coffee, a word nothingg. I mean anyone is not man enough to realize own mistakes and openly Admit it (how bad it is). arrrhh pisses me off soooo badddd. ends up where other guy (I don't care/give a shit about victim/bully mentality). ends up having to take the FALL instead. and then when attacked they'll self justify their own position when their such a hideyhole. why I have so much respect for people who DO actually admit their wrong/admit it to the other person and THEMSELVES. Ill never help anyone who is hideyhole ever.. (until they Out with it, which is never). cause it pisses me off so bad, their lieing to themselves, lieing to me. and lieing to the world. I could NEVER be that guy. and I have done some shameful things (but not level of Hollywood), and I always admitted/outed it that I was responsible and made steps to account for it, over pushing it off wayside for someone else to deal with (that you wont account for). still wrong, but wayy lesser of evils. (than opposite). its like self-insulttt admit when do that.
I don’t get tired of seeing this amazing performance. To have the balls to go up there and do what he did it’s incredible. He is already rich, he produces his own comedy and shows and he needs no one. That’s why he can do what he does because many people in Hollywood would love to destroy him for his honesty.
@Welch Productions you sound so stuck up and frustrated. You also never gave a example of an american. So his statement eventhough meant as hyperbole rings even more true lol
@Chris Wyatt Oh dear, opened up a can of worms, have n't l ?!! My OC was tongue in cheek but l honestly think Americans will take from the Brits what they won't take from their own. Does that make sense? Not dissing anybody but l just think that THEY think we are more quirky and daring in our humour. Think it goes back to Monty Python and Cook and Moore in the 60s/70s. Ricky was on The View and he seems to jell with Whoopi and the other ladies.
@The WhiteKobra Thank you for the personal attack. We were missing some of that childishness in this argument. Being able to laugh at yourself over such a situation shows that you don’t care that much about what image you present of yourself and shows you don’t think of yourself as a god or something of the sort.
It's crazy and scary how he just nailed it on the spot and the camera knew who to point it at... scary indeed how uncomfortable they look by hearing familiar things getting called out.
@Mikey Morales 1331 You got that backwards guy. What was so predictable about Bill Hicks, Eddie Murphy, Lenny Bruce and Rodney Dangerfield? I'm guessing you didn't live here in Britain, we use laughter cue cards too. Gervais is overrated and overweight, that's predictable. Next you gonna tell me he's a better comic than Robin Williams 30 years of stand up comedy?
The best Brit humour is the comedians who don't have to resort to gutter language like Tommy Cooper who could just walk on stage and have you in hysterics. Victoria wood also.Ali g.
This never gets old! 😅Thank you Ricky Gervais for your absolute authenticity 👍 Never stop telling it how it is and being real and transparent! Love ya guts mate!!
This is what Hollywood needs to hear. See how quiet and uncomfortable they all were with all this reality check. Alot of celebrities idolize themselves and need to be brought down to reality.
Ricky Gervais , Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr. These are the people who, no matter how hard some people try, they can't be cancelled and gotten rid of. They're offensive as all get out but they're also brutally honest and people want that in this day and age and that's why those guys are winners.
@Bamboo Shoot Yeah, we all heard wills excuse. No excuse whatsoever. Guy gave a political weasely apology where he made it all about himself of course.
Will hit Chris because he felt he could. Will wouldn't have hit Ricky because Ricky doesn't embody anything negative in Will's life. Chris, being black, did. At that moment Chris embodied Will's abusive father, and having just portrayed a father in _'King Richard'_ who was unafraid, Will felt compelled to *take a stand.* 88% of violent crimes happen with 1 person of one race hurting or ending the life of a person of the same race.
What a sense of liberation and levity he must have felt saying all this! Only a comedian with a great talent and guts can probably get this feeling without being immediately violently attacked. I wish I could experience this feeling too, must be so uplifting:)) imagine having politicians doing this:)
People who have money. Will kiss every ass they have to to keep that money. When somebody stands up for their selves and says I don’t care. Yes it shocks them.
He is 100 times more brutal than Rock was.. I hope that people see this because THIS is what comedy is supposed to be and has always been! And it's hillarious! Stop finding every opportunity to be offended. This was gold
Hi Christine I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
I just will never tire of watching this.. The man is a genius and the Judy Dench joke has me in tears... Everything Ricky touches turns to gold his work is second to none , wish he was Prime Minister genuinely haha
@Light Up Not really because of that, but because of certain attitudes. If you see sports like Football you can see most top players are super humble, introverts, they are knowhere as "public" as actors and don't feel that important. Also a lot of them come from poor backgrounds so they know what is like to be at the bottom and respect it. A lot of people from hollywood are simply privileged since minute one, and like Ricky said, they have no knowledge of the real world but still talk about it. This is not about their talent, they are really talented, but when they seem to be above the rest of the people just because they choose that career, while at the same time having horrible morals it's what bothers people.
Its ridiculous tho. This is a roast it was funny. But comment sections are such a tiny minority. They are thousands of people that hate actors for being rich and famous and generalize them as being narcissistic and assholes out of envy and bitterness. Meanwhile millions dont care about this and just enjoy their work and films and thats why the actors are rich and famous lol its really silly to hate someone over their job. The equivalent of hating an athlete or musician for being famous and rich lol Their wealth and fame was created by the public
When I first watched this, “the two Popes” joke was one of the few times I’ve ever been left breathless from laughing so much. I was literally gasping for air looking at Jonathan Pryce’s face.
@Kathy Hix since I said I don't disagree then logic states that I would agree with it. However I also agree with the fact that you like to argue in circles.
@dosken Android is primarily developed by Google as is Chrome OS so I'm not sure where you're going with that. It has a Linux kernel built into it but it's mainly developed under Google.
I watched this live - I was super lucky because I never watch shows like this - my jaw hit the floor...WITH LAUGHTER. I thought it was SIMPLY BRILLIANT!!!
@Frank Uvlkan Hey Frank, Is it with regret that I inform you I'm actually a straight 19-year old male. I do however like to think I have a beautiful heart, and appreciate the complement nevertheless, especially considering you don't normally write in the comment section. I'd say God bless you too but I don't really think there is one. Have a lovely day
I love how perfectly Ricky described what he was doing here, while he was on the view. Where he isn't performing for the 200 egos in the room, but rather that he was performing for the 200 million people watching who aren't millionaires and who aren't winning awards. It's honestly the nicest thing that a comedian can do for us.
Totally agree. The "let's have a laugh - at your expense" sums up beautifully and ironically what the function of roasting is. Hollywood should thank him for it. He literally gave life support to the industry.
I will always love Ricky for this moment in history. The celebs who showed smugness over Ricky’s jokes had a guilty conscience written all over their face. The fact that people with this much privilege and fortune can act offended by jokes is beyond me. They really believe they are above others and their reactions to his hosting proves that to me. I cannot wait till we return to a day where political correctness and “offending” people isn’t a thing anymore.
@Joshua Chase Nothing worse than small minded people thinking you're jealous of someone because you don't like someone or something. So juvenile. Great response to him.
@Steve I have absolutely no desire to be famous. Fame, while you may desire it, many of us do not. I like my privacy. Secondly, I am very well off and work hard for my success, so I am actually very content with my life. No jealousy present here. I'm just observing what is very apparent in this video. Believe it or not, many celebrities struggle with mental health issues simply because of the wealth and fame associated with them. I understand you see things narrowly, but I would suggest you stop projecting your own feelings onto others. Have a good one :)
I've watched that opening monolog so many times I almost know it word for word. And the "you had to make your own way here in your own planes didn't you" is one of my favorite jokes and it went over everyone's heads... like epsteins plane. Sorry I couldn't help myself
how can you not love this guy for his honesty and down to earth commentary.......I only watch this show because of ricky otherwise I would never ever watch it
Hi Barbara I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
@Alex Someone already wrote this and I've already answered them that it makes sense to me now, maybe you didn't see it, it's right above. I didn't watch the part where Will got his award, because I didn't care for it. And believe me, I was very much open for someone to actually explain to me the idea behind this comment when I asked my initial question, it just too ka lot of time becaues the answers I kept getting didn't make all that much sense to me and were very varied. I still don't know if the whole room was applauding him, because in the videos I now find the ovation is only heard, and I know for a fact that many of his collegues criticized his actions afterwards, so maybe they didn't participate in the ovation either. Beside that I'm not sure regular people would show more nobility in such a scenario, but these two things are more like additional thoughts and not so important, I can agree now that the original comment makes sense, the connection it made makes sense, and the criticism of Hollywood through it makes sense. I don't think this was all that difficult for me to understand, it just turned out that it was difficult to find someone to explain it. Take you for example, I saw your first response, I don't know why it's not there anymore, did you delete it because you checked that most of his peers actually condemned his behavior? Cause you sure didn't write about the ovation back then. You waited until someone else gave me a more sensible explanation, and the you repeated it, even though this conversation was already concluded between me and them.
@Rohan I fail to grasp your difficulty with connecting Gervais directly accusing the Academy members of being morally bankrupt phonies and those same Academy members giving an ovation to someone who'd violently assaulted a man on stage earlier that night and then played the victim. That applause, along with him not being removed, was tacit approval. Those reactions are the basis of connecting Ricky's roast with the incident.
@eZra S. that's the first reply I got that makes any sense, so thanks for breaking the curse. Although I'm still not convinced that regular people wouldn't react the same way, seems to me like it's just people being people.
Hi LordM8rshal I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. He said it perfectly "Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right"
Depends what it is! Its not a catch all
@Thomas Christopher White k
@Scott Hardie sounds like you're offended lol
I hope the canceled culture gang gang is seeing this 🤞🏼
You cant cancel a guy who’s not afraid of being cancelled. Well done sir.
You can't cancel a man who makes his money out of being against most of how society works . If they try to cancel him he'll come back with a series of jokes that cancels the one who tries to cancel him and people will still buy tickets to see him because his audience is on his side. These were the days when the Globes were interesting to watch.. Who's with me and can say they haven't watched one since Ricky Gervais?
@GMar Billy Crystal never hosted the Golden Globes
@Marty Key 3 years, 7 years, 11 years, 12 years and 13 years ago.. Yes those were the days when it was interesting to watch.. I don't think there's a certain timeframe when something is allowed to be referred to as "Those were the days" 🤣 But apparently there is, so please enlighten us??!! 🙅♀
What two years ago 😂
I would ONLY watch the Gervais bit, and skip the rest of that incredible fake, boring and usually unjust shitshow.
God bless Ricky!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳
@bowlchamps37 Yes because all the other professions are so clean, you just sound jelly
Most people felt visibly uncomfortable with the bare truth spilled right into their faces, but I loved how well Scorsese, Streep, and Dicaprio took his jokes. 👌🏼😄
snowflakes
@Joshua Davis That's called psychological projection, sorry to hear about your childhood
“You are in no position to lecture the public about anything, you know nothing about the real world” he’s not wrong
Marty Scorsese - a director most of those people would kill to work with - was laughing the hardest, even when he was the butt of the jokes. Class act.
@Cwise85 7:58
@AlexandreG All of you try to make it look like the ones you liked laughed a lot and the ones you dont like didnt. But the truth is you havent got a clue. Only very little footage of reactions from the audience. Thats the truth. So stop all your judgemental garbage toward others.
1:38 yeah Scorsese looks like he's thrilled to be there, lol
He destroyed people with his comedy, but didn't get slapped. What a concept.
@Robert they were both jokes. jada didn't even have a disease she just shaved her head
@J Soh political ...so your a trump supporter.
@tree of truth There's a difference between being offended and calling someone out and what Will Smith did.
"You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world!" BRAVO!!!! Well said!
@Dave W Oh he's a total hypocrite, he's just making you feel better about being one of the losers of life
@Steve I never said he was a saint. But neither is he a hypocrite, like so many in Hollywood.
Says the rich famous guy that pays less tax than you do
This award show will never be same as before. Great work Ricky. They deserve it. Love ya
@c7042 you just don't
I would hate to be the guy following him the next time. How do you follow that!
Will Smith smacked Chris Rock, Ricky Gervais smacked the entire hollywood industry.
@Oswaldo Zuniga :(
@Joao dudu absolutely.. all of it
Why did he say these things at this event? Is it true?
ABSOLUTE GOLD!!!! Thank god comedians of this caliber exist. Gervais has and will always be one of my absolute comedy fav’s!!
7:32 Tom Hanks face because he was planning to make a long winded political speech in case he won but Ricky Gervais just ruined it
Look how uncomfortable they get when he talks about pedophilia. This man is a hero.
@Silk A yup
@usagi18 indeed that's the key.....to comedy. Being victimised by famous pedophiles isn't funny. He's drawing attention, with laughs, to a situation most people and most famous people avoided totally.
Look how excited you get when they talk about it
Sounds like someone is obsessed with the subject and it aint the actors
Especially Tom Hanks
You can see who was personally offended and who was laughing along. It does speak volumes when he is calling them out for some awful shit, it's almost like admitting he's right

I didn't get the joke please explain
Love how Tom Hanks looked like he was going to shit out enough bricks to build another 40 million dollar house 😂
I can't stand this guy...
@Steve He is probably talking about some conspiracy theories about him
@Gamerboy999 He's got a lot of money to hide which is why you're jelly
Ricky, always a master at telling it like it is. So witty, funny and original. Love you Ricky, keep up the good work with your animal charities. Some of us have a sense of humor and can appreciate your unique and brutally honest humor.

Ricky is a comedic genius. A man that can not be cancelled.
He said everything that the public wants to say to these people.
Problem is we need to stop watching all of them and making them richer and richer
He is a part of them
@새론이tv Someone doesn't understand humor...
Something like Donald Trump.
@Soi Lentgreen money
This was and always will be THR GOLD STANDARD for comedy. Ricky isn’t afraid of ANY of them-he’s independently wealthy and a good person. Mic drop.
Each time I watch this, I love him more. He went ALL THE WAY all by himself alone on stage. RG I can't thank you enough for your service. Brilliant!
I love Robert De Niro's reaction. He just kept laughing nonstop 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t get tired of seeing this amazing performance. To have the balls to go up there and do what he did it’s incredible.
He is already rich, he produces his own comedy and shows and he needs no one. That’s why he can do what he does because many people in Hollywood would love to destroy him for his honesty.
This man roasted half of Hollywood while shamelessly plugging his own show..👏👏 . Savage!!!
Guys a hilarious genius
@Welch Productions you sound so stuck up and frustrated.
You also never gave a example of an american.
So his statement eventhough meant as hyperbole rings even more true lol
Reminds me of classic Don Rickles! Wow! Ricky nails it!
@Welch Productions give us all an example of an American doing it then
@Chris Wyatt Oh dear, opened up a can of worms, have n't l ?!! My OC was tongue in cheek but l honestly think Americans will take from the Brits what they won't take from their own. I love how Leo laughs at the jokes directed at him. Really proves he’s a great guy
@The WhiteKobra Thank you for the personal attack. We were missing some of that childishness in this argument. Being able to laugh at yourself over such a situation shows that you don’t care that much about what image you present of yourself and shows you don’t think of yourself as a god or something of the sort.
@Terrific Tortoise no the only things that can make you a great guy are by being a great person. Are you missing some cells
@The WhiteKobra Not necessarily but laughing at a controversy surrounding yourself with no hard feelings proves you’re a great guy.
Yeah because laughing makes u a great guy
@The E-Sports Pantheon I think that was a real laugh. He looked very amused, but you’re allowed to think it was fake.
4:50 Martin Scorsese saying "it's true" is quite legendary
It's crazy and scary how he just nailed it on the spot and the camera knew who to point it at... scary indeed how uncomfortable they look by hearing familiar things getting called out.
Is this the first time that a comedian has completely alienated the crowd and still absolutely killed it? !?
This guy's got some balls you gotta respect him for that..
British humour at it's best. He is an absolute legend and pokes fun at those who deserve it.
@Mohammed Alshami and over your head haha!
The best Brit humour is the comedians who don't have to resort to gutter language like Tommy Cooper who could just walk on stage and have you in hysterics. Victoria wood also.Ali g.
can we just take a moment to appreciate scorsese's sense of humor the guy's a legend
Ricky doesn't give a dam what people think, his honesty and couldn't give AF attitude is what makes him a great
Ricky Gervais , Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr. These are the people who, no matter how hard some people try, they can't be cancelled and gotten rid of. They're offensive as all get out but they're also brutally honest and people want that in this day and age and that's why those guys are winners.
Lol don't put Ricky's name next to those 2
No one hit him because he wasn’t joking. He just told facts.
@Bamboo Shoot Yeah, we all heard wills excuse. No excuse whatsoever. Guy gave a political weasely apology where he made it all about himself of course.
Truth
"fax"
Will hit Chris because he felt he could. Will wouldn't have hit Ricky because Ricky doesn't embody anything negative in Will's life. Chris, being black, did. No one hit him cause Will wasn’t there that year
Honestly, a real comedian. What a legend. I’ve watched this a few times lol
Me too , I never get tired of re watching 😅
Honestly it couldn't get more real or funny than calling them out on pretending to be blind when working for harvy Weinstein ... savage king 😂
What a sense of liberation and levity he must have felt saying all this! Only a comedian with a great talent and guts can probably get this feeling without being immediately violently attacked. I wish I could experience this feeling too, must be so uplifting:)) imagine having politicians doing this:)
Big respect to Ricky for saying all this 👏 🙌
Being truthful doesn't gain you friends, but being honest will gain respect as a friend.
Tom Hanks was literally in shock like he was personally being attacked by every single thing being said
He was on the island thats why
I agree - these boys are squeaky clean until there not. That was quite face Hanks pulled.
People who have money. Will kiss every ass they have to to keep that money. When somebody stands up for their selves and says I don’t care. Yes it shocks them.
I've watched this sketch many times and I still laugh everytime .. straight masterpiece
I have seen this monologue maybe 30 times. It somehow gets more and more brilliant with each viewing. This is stand up comedy of legendary calibre.
95% of them in that room are guilty of one form of wrong doing or another. Ricky called them all out in the name of comedy, thank you !
Brilliant, comic genius. It’s just amazing how long it took for a comedian to exploit Hollywood’s hypocrisy and narcissism.
Good on him for saying it like it IS.
No more turning a blind eye to the truth.
He is 100 times more brutal than Rock was.. I hope that people see this because THIS is what comedy is supposed to be and has always been! And it's hillarious! Stop finding every opportunity to be offended. This was gold
@Guinea Pig Everyday very true point Ricky is just a better comedian in general
@Capn T Baggins - Not unless your comment is a sign of illness.
@Joshua Whitney yep
Gervais solidified himself as a true comedy legend after this.
It takes huge balls to say jokes like these. Bravo, Ricky Gervais
He destroyed everyone!! Hahaha made so many people uncomfortable 😂
to the public , there is no one deserved the award except Ricky Gervais
I love how they're all squirming in there seats cause they know he's speaking TRUTH 👊
Hi Christine I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
I come back to this about once a year just to remind myself that someone actually had the balls to say all this. Love it so much.
@UnimpressedGojira I don't. I actually I like Will even more. Please don't like this comment. I thrive on rejection! #MeGoingToHellToo when I die.
Same here. I had family that were "Offended" by what he said, I told them good, be offended, everything he said was correct.
I am here just to watch Tom Hank again 😂
Scorsese and De Niro is having too much fun. Class work only at that table
Yep!
He deserved an award for this!!
Brilliant! Finally some dude giving words to what the audience really thinks about Hollywood.
@Kimarie Sings Is he not some dude? Is he a cyborg?
The fact that you think Ricky Gervais is "some dude" is funnier than anything.
I really respect & love Ricky. Pure Gold and a stand up dude!!
I just will never tire of watching this.. The man is a genius and the Judy Dench joke has me in tears... Everything Ricky touches turns to gold his work is second to none , wish he was Prime Minister genuinely haha
@Nez ball yeh so funny 🤣 , I love when he laughs before he tells it , the wee grunt saying he can't do this next joke 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She’s old Skool😂😂😂😂 that did it for me !!!
This NEVER gets old....love it! I wish I had the "confidence," i.e. financial stability to be so bold/honest!
My hero. We need more people like Ricky. Pay attention folks, this is what speaking truth to power *actually* looks like.
He ain’t a right winger so chill.
@user-kl9dd7xo2q my comment was in regards of the whole comment section. control your teen emotions
@Michael Handy so he thinks we’re clowns… for agreeing with what he said? nice one, he’s a better actor than I thought
The equivalent of hating an athlete or musician for being famous and rich lol
Their wealth and fame was created by the public
This never gets old. Thank you Ricky.
The best thing about this, he's actually making facts 🤣
He is simply the best!!! I can watch this over and over again and cry with laughter!!!
The reactions in the room just proves, someone speaking the truth really is revolutionary these days.
When I first watched this, “the two Popes” joke was one of the few times I’ve ever been left breathless from laughing so much. I was literally gasping for air looking at Jonathan Pryce’s face.
The Epstein and Weinstein jokes WERE ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL!!
He even roasted Apple being a soul-less corporation right in Tim Cook's face.
@halo halo because he's a queer left gear.
Why was Tim Cook even there?
@Kathy Hix since I said I don't disagree then logic states that I would agree with it. However I also agree with the fact that you like to argue in circles.
@Rob Roy No really. You could have no opinion on the topic, and thereby neither agree nor disagree.
@dosken Android is primarily developed by Google as is Chrome OS so I'm not sure where you're going with that. It has a Linux kernel built into it but it's mainly developed under Google.
I love the contrast between the humble ones and the ones with way too much ego.
RG really killed it, he should get a golden globe for this.
This is one of the realest upfront comedian heard in a really long time surprise that he is still alive. Keeping it real 💯
I watched this live - I was super lucky because I never watch shows like this - my jaw hit the floor...WITH LAUGHTER. I thought it was SIMPLY BRILLIANT!!!
Thank you Ricky Gervais, for all of my heart.
By far the funniest part of this is the look of absolute terror behind the smiles of every celebrity viewing, awaiting their turn
@Frank Uvlkan Hey Frank,
Is it with regret that I inform you I'm actually a straight 19-year old male.
He was speaking for us and we weren't even there!
Tom Hanks looked thrilled.
Astute! Well said!
Amen!
Thanks for the uncensored version, it's great to finally hear what was said that night.
Hey, kudos for posting the unedited, un-bleeped monologue. Haven't seen that elsewhere.
Gervais is uniquely fearless, and we need a lot more like him.
Watching this absolute masterpiece of humbling honesty is a yearly tradition from now on
Classic, I could listen to Ricky for hours, comedy as it should be!
Ricky Gervais is brilliant. I loved seeing how annoyed Tom Hanks was. Kudos, Ricky!
Thanks for all the mind reading Kreskin but you just sound jelly because they're rich and famous and you're you
I laughed the whole way thru....genius!
He’s also right about them having absolutely no right to lecture the public about anything!!!!!
I've watched that opening monolog so many times I almost know it word for word. And the "you had to make your own way here in your own planes didn't you" is one of my favorite jokes and it went over everyone's heads... like epsteins plane. Sorry I couldn't help myself
after this I knew Tom Hanks was one of the evil ones.
“Leonardo attended to the premier and by the end his date was too old for him” lmfaooooo this sent me to an orbit💀💀
Ricky Gervais is a genius. Plain and simple!! 🙌👏🙌
“You are in no position to lecture the public!” So true Ricky!!! 😂
Repent to Jesus Christ “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 NIV

@Dung Eater my favourite teehee
@Grant I know hehe…I loved watching their over inflated egos squirm
@Jack Beanstock i actually like how they cross the line.
PS Jack the Ripper is not doing your name any favours either dude
@gmy33 I agree
how can you not love this guy for his honesty and down to earth commentary.......I only watch this show because of ricky otherwise I would never ever watch it
He’s such a legend for this! Love him!
So glad he let Hollywood hear the honest truth.
His roasts will never ever get old. He's gold!
It's crazy that they all think he was joking
‘Shut up, i don’t care anymore’
He speaks for everyone.
He is so rude and not at the same time
He speaks the truth🤙🏻👏
Not me.
Il faut faire une bonne bonne partie
...I don't care any more ...joking ...I never cared 🤣
Epic! He spoke nothing but the truth.
It doesn't get old, nor irrelevant !
This man is pure gold !
I just love the look on the face of Tom Hanks, he’s hurting 😂.
This never gets old. 😂😂

Simply brilliant ! Entarteinment, fun and a very much needed honesty.
Well, after Will Smith, we know all know Ricky was 100 percent correct.
I didn't need will smith to know that.
It didn't take Will Smith for us to know these things were applicable.
I honestly hope it wasn't his last time. He's just perfect.

This guy is so down to earth. Fabulous 👍
“I know he’s your friend, but I don’t care.” 😂💀
