The original Pinocchio book was very dark. The original Disney version in 1940 had some pretty dark elements, but nothing on the level of the book by Collodi.
I am very grateful that I knew of the story of Pinocchio from various other books and cartoons. When I saw Walt Disney's Pinocchio, I saw it as just that...WALT DISNEY'S Pinocchio.
I really appreciate that they didn't turn him into a human and just kept him as a wooden boy instead, the ending where they all pass away except pinocchio just shows that yes it is sad to see them pass but for pinocchio is to understand that will happen and he learns to treasure the last moments he had with the ones he loved
I really enjoyed this movie. I was not aware that it was using stop motion animation puppetry before seeing it. I loved the movie and the differences that Guillermo Del Toro used in making his version of the movie. I did not like the Disney version that was released this year.
Good review. Love your passion. Youve got a good soul. You made me want to go see this at the theater. I'll have to see if its still showing in my area.
I was hoping to find a showing in theaters near me, but not one soul was playing the film in my area. I really wanted to experience this film on the big screen, guess I'm waiting for the Netflix drop
You guys ☠️just don’t remember that does misbehaving kids was in pinochio that original “ what did you guys expect “ and it was creepy yes but that’s to teach kids the do And don’t and the morals - that ☠️ probably this movie missed because they want him to be him like what . That ain’t the point.
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio is one of the worst animated films I've ever seen. Come to think of it, I haven't seen these levels of darkness and maturity since Don Bluth's The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time and An American Tail, or Walt Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, for that matter -- all of which I liked better than Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.

Yes, the book by Carlo Collodi is the original. The Disney version is an adaptation.

When you said, “yea, we don’t talk about that” referring to the Disney one, you earned my like on this video 😂 👍
I like your authenticity, passion and insight to the film. I wish you luck. x
Thanks. I really appreciate the words. ❤️

You will really enjoy the Bollywood Harry Potter . . He he he .
Bro what 😂 this is honestly the best Pinocchio movie
Excellent time-lapse, good voice-actors and really good singing by Gregory Mann. Some people have poor taste...
