@Riddle RoseHearts But they have other trait to make them theirs. Rainbow Dash is the atheletic and don’t think twice while Applejack is the straight man of the group.
@Khanh Nguyen ah so Applejack and Rainbow Dash being both Tomboys while also being vastly different is wrong and only 1 character can be a tomboy so by that logic only 1 woman in the entirw world should be a tomboy the rest should just be pretty little princesses that need saving all the time by a man
@Magic man The Geez even so it's still peach and it's still part of the universe of Mario my god, do you own peach no you don't so let nintendo do what the hell they want with her
Bowser to me is literally a perfect character design because he can look both very menacing and fearful, but when it's time for a spin-off for him or him to be likeable, he you very much look the part have a good guy or at least a likeable character. And giving Bowser a sort of "Hades" treatment in this movie, being the comic relief and a rather serious threat, is perfect for his design
@Arin Jäger I totally was thinking of a different kind of bear.. oops 😅 I’ve loved Bowuigi since before people started to ship it because of the first trailer. I’m not complaining though, that just means more sweet as all heck fanfics and art of Bowser and Luigi being cute with Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings.
I think Mario looked the best when he was looking at the leaky faucet. You also know the design for Peach is good when you can automatically hear Anya’s voice just from looking at the promotional poster.
@Destinyi 100% agree with this, i don't like the changes in her voice and personality, it just doesn't feel like peach. it feels more like a generic heroine character from every single movie and sounds and looks like it too, i love peach but this just isn't her, now she doesn't have to be completely defenseless to be like peach, i just feel like they changed her way too much and her bigger lips and longer lashes, yellow-er hair, softer voice, and more simplistic crown in the games just have way more charm to them in my opinion.
@IDK bro it’s genius, if you landed in some random realm and were asked to save a princess you don’t even know, what reason would you have to even do so? But if it was someone you’re close to or a loved one, of course you would! That’s what makes it more sensical in the film, plus we get a new interpretation of peach as a bonus
@Pink Cat Imagine how much funnier it'd be to have Peaches original cutesy personality and air head voice and then watch her frolick into war and start murking an army. ITD BE SO GOOD THEY COULD HAVE SO EASILY DONE BOTH.
@Jaco Lol yeah this is the first time mario is raytraced since he has always been on crappy hardware 😂 Edit: It's Just A Joke I Love Nintendo And Will Defend Them To The Ends Of The Earth, So With That Said I'm Just Making Fun Of Them For Fun
The thing is in the movie, Mario and Luigi are from the "reel" world. It kinda plays out as an "origin" story for them. So it makes sence Mario doesn't "fit" this world unlike in the games because he isn't from it.
One thing I don’t think people thought about when we first heard Illumination was the studio making the movie was that they might solely be there for the animation quality. Illumination, however bad you think their movies are, has some extremely good animation quality and so if they do the visuals while Nintendo works on the story then the movie is going to absolutely amazing, and with the trailers it feels like this is all but confirmed
@TheHale _ I was more so saying the general quality was good, not that Illumination’s art direction is good. With the Mario environment, compared to a basic urban environment like Despicable Me, they have a much more creative art direction to use their quality textures and design for (which is clearly the case looking at the released trailers)
I’m not really a fan of illumination, or even their style. All their movies look exactly the same. Which is why I was very pleased to see that the Mario movie doesn’t look like it takes place in the same universe as despicable me and the grinch.
i dont know, i think a lot of the time their animation isnt as good as other studios because its just trying to look generic, the mario movie though is lookign a lot more expressive
Illumination looks pretty in areas, but they’re also cheap as hell. They constantly reuse models for background characters. Something you can also see in the Mario Kart part of the trailer with the two Funky Kongs.
Yeah. Illumination Studios has the most high quality animation, but studio has a lack of storytelling and humor which it's no wonder it got a lot of hate.
Yeah, not to mention that Illumination is making movies with such realistic textures nowadays. The skin, the hair, the background, the clothes, and much more! This is a point that makes Peach more beautiful too
@P there’s literally examples of how she’s not always like that in this video. In the RPG games she often sticks up for herself and is shown as a strong yet caring leader for her kingdom, in the comics she lead an army to save Mario from Bowser’s castle, in Mario Odyssey once she finally got free of Bowser’s unfair advantage of his brute force she rejected his advances and left him on the moon, it’s entirely possible for her to be strong, independent and feminine all at once and that’s exactly what feminism pushes for, for women to be whatever they want. It doesn’t seem to be just a tropey strong independent woman who don’t need no man situation, it’s actual character development for her based on the rarer side of her in games to make her interesting for a 90 minute film that would be boring otherwise. If I’m wrong then it’s not feminisms fault, it’s just bad soulless writing.
@💜𝕃𝕖𝕒𝕙𝕋𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕠💜 because peach isn't supposed to be a strong woman she is a damsel in distress in the video games by looking at the trailer she's obviously one of those cringe "i don't need a man" sjw feminists
I think they made Mario more realistic since it seems they’re going into the idea that Mario and Luigi are from the real world, so making them look semi-normal fits that idea
And remember the last film about a famous jump and run character and how the fans hated the “classic” design. I think they were really frightened to get a backlash on the design like sonic did.
I just wanna point out the neat detail of the green from Bowser’s head bleeding onto his shoulders, showing the transition from yellow to green looks really organic and works well imo and it makes him look all the more creature-like
fun fact about the DK redesign it is ment to be a mix between DKC DK and the DK found on the artwork of the original arcade game that is why he has brown around his eyes rather then black & looks goofier then his DKC version
Actually, it's more of a mix between the DKC DK, and the proposed design Miyamoto made that ended up being used for Game Boy Donkey Kong (a few months prior to DKC).
I love the bowser design, and I can't help but feel like his expressions and face are designed after jack black, they way he talks and smiles etc. just looks perfect
One minor overlooked thing about bowsers design is that the green from his head bleeds onto his body. I love that, as Ive always been confused as to why only his head was green
One small thing that’s noticeable about bowser’s redesign is that his teeth are more spread in the middle. This is done so that his snout can serve as lips in order to make him a lot more expressive. A very small change that goes a long way
Although comparing to video game characters versus movie characters is actually really unique they look like the same and a little bit like their video game counters overall I really love it I just hope that the universe could have these new future character models
I love peach so much, I main her in every Mario game I can. I'm extremely happy with how she looks and feels in the trailer and posters. She's the peach I know, the peach I've been playing as all these years, only even more realized
Something to point out about Bowser's movie design: His shoulders have a green gradient to them. Not sure if it's a reference to his sprite from Super Mario World having green arms, or just a way to have a more natural transition between the orange body and green head, but I think it actually looks good.
I think they were trying to make Donkey Kong look more like Donkey Kong Jr. which I noticed the second I saw him, and I loved that! The design itself doesn't look bad, probably about the same as Mario imo, but knowing that he looks similar to the original DK Jr. makes me love it even more. Because of that, my rating of 7 goes up to an 8 for his movie design.
In other posters you notice that Bowser has green faded scales on his shoulders which connect to his green face super well, it’s such a minor yet major detail that I can’t help but love
I honestly think adding cranky's old design to Donkey Kong for the movie is a good idea since he was originally drawn as a cartoon character and that translates very well to animation
Here's hoping the movie turns out to be just as well-received as Sonic's recent cinematic outings. Otherwise, old-school Sega fans are gonna be gloating SO hard 😅
FINALLY, someone acknowledges that Peach is a decent character and not just a kidnapping victim! I'm so tired of people dismissing her as having no personality when it's just objectively not true.
That crazy. Peach is probably my least favorite design. But that could be influenced by personal bias. I’m not crazy about Peach’s overall portrayal so far. I get wanting to do something different than “damsel in distress” for the movie, but I can’t help but worry they’ll crutch her personality too far on being a girlboss.
Peach is probably my favorite redesign, just looking at her you can get the vibes of elegance but the smirk tells you she is not afraid to be a little spicy. Bowser is just a perfect design, full stop. The fact that they didn't change anything but the textures for the movie speaks to how strong the original is, and how easily it translates into Illumination's style.
Gonna be honest with you, REALLY loved the way they managed to incorporate Jack Black's looks onto Bowser. Looking at him in the first trailer, it just really works
What I like about Toad's redesign that no one talks about it is their cheeks. In the games, Toad's head is basically a ball, but in the movie, those cheeks add more shape to the head, and a lot more expressions to the eyes and mouth. It's a barely noticeable detail that changes a lot.
I think Toad in particular is incredible, everything from the more clearly visible legs to the voice, it makes it feel like a “realistic” version of Toad, like the one we know is a cartoon character, and this is the true version. The others are all pretty clearly stylized, and I do like most of them, but this is probably the only design I’d advocate to put in the actual games.
Honestly I think I prefer the more realistic look to the brothers. It makes sense seeing how they originally are from a regular human world, specifically Brooklyn. Because of that, then looking more realistic compared to the cartoony mushroom kingdom is a good look.
We've barely seen Kamek in most of the trailers besides the first one and some TV spots, but I think his design looks great. Compared to the games, his movie design does a good job making him seem like an old wizard serving an evil king.
Bowser’s design actually does have a lot of physical changes. Ones I noticed right off the bat were his tail got more spikes (2 in the game design, 3 or 4 in the movie), his mouth got more teeth (12 in the game, about 22 in the movie). Then on closer inspection, the green skin of his head bleeds down onto his shoulders, instead of stopping entirely under the neck collar. And the red rings around the spikes on his shell were turned into yellow/orange jagged growths sprouting out of the shell. I agree, it’s a great design, but there are several real physical changes to it, more than any other character I’d say.
I love how they did Peach in the movie more than the games. Her design, her personality, how badass she is, everything. It honestly makes more sense instead of just doing the generic “damsel in distress” thing.
The reason that his hair and eyebrows don’t match is because it is a very common trait among Italian immigrants. I come from heavy Italian descent, but the red hair gene was introduced a couple generations back. When it doesn’t manifest on a man’s head, it will manifest in his facial hair. It’s really interesting actually and totally justifies Mario’s appearance.
Best part about Peach is that they used her Mario Kart biker outfit. Although I think the best redesign is Bowser's. Peach is a little better than the original but feels a bit off, Bowser stayed true to his source material better than anyone else but they still managed to improve on him.
I honestly really love the Mario and Luigi designs with the, workers gloves, lace up shoes, and collar shirts, it really does make them look like average guys who got wrapped up in an adventure. Also, if this was Mario’s “origin story” - considering the reaction he has to the mushroom kingdom in the trailer - it does make a lot of sense. So, while it’s not my favorite design, it’s a nice one.
The new DK design is a hybrid between the classic style (before DK Country) and the modern one (DK Country onwards). Miyamoto clearly stated this in that direct where the second trailer was revealed
I’m very excited for this movie! My favorite Nintendo character is peach and so to actually see her be more of a ruler then JUST a damsel in destress is actually really exciting to me and I know many others! I know many OG fans don’t really like it but I absolutely love it and I’ve seen many compare her personality to daisy, but we literally got a 2 minute trailer. I think miyamoto will still keep her peachy essence, but have her be more of a ruler which is actually very exciting!!
This is why illumination is my favorite company when it comes to animated films because they add such great texture to everything that makes the visual seem real
I love how you mentioned New Super Mario Bros was your very first Mario game which in actual fact was mine too. That game made me get introduced to Mario and I’m glad I’m still in this franchise to this date
The only problem I have with bowser is that his nose is more "roundish" than in the games, which make him look less threatening in a way. Otherwise every design is good
Yeah I agree about enjoying Peach’s character Her constant kidnappings in most of the games really affected the fanbase’s perception of her, and I hope Nintendo will do stuff what they did with her in games like Super Paper Mario and Mario RPG more in the future
Only thing I don’t like that hasn’t really been talked about by anyone, is the green scales on Bowser’s shoulders. I guess after seeing something iconic for so long, the smallest changes don’t feel right.
I will say, Miyamoto himself said that DK's redesign resembles his more classic design. And comparing the redesign with the Arcade artwork and the Donkey Kong GB game's box art, I kinda see it.
I definitely enjoyed this video. Makes me want to hear what Finn thinks about character design for characters he doesn't know the personality of. Including (possibly) the characters of the webcomic El Goonish Shive. Especially if he reacted to the multiple forms for some characters. Doubt that'll happen, because it probably wouldn't do well with the algorithm, but still.
Yes! Bowsers inside story is also one of my favorite Mario games of all time. This game has such amazing environments and it really feels lived in, being able to explore toad town, peach’s and bowser’s castle. Also the gameplay is great too.
One more small detail I noticed with the movie Toad design is that it looks like they actually have legs instead of just two feet attached to a bulbous body. It makes it look more like they're wearing little parachute pants instead of diapers!
I really hope we get to see Fawful in a sequel. Maybe Antasma as well, but I think he is a bit of a stretch. Fawful though… he has potential. Don’t get me wrong, they both have potential. Heck, there isn’t much I wouldn’t do to see the two freaking TEAM UP! But we probably aren’t getting the villainous vampire we know and love from Dream Team anytime soon. But I could see Fawful possibly appearing in a sequel… Someone at Nintendo make it happen!
You pretty much just said everything I have on my mind, saving me from writing yet another essay. I trust Illumination with Mario and to hit this movie out of the park. I'm glad they changed up not just the characters' but also the world's designs a little bit to make them feel more immersive and real, rather than going with the exact same art style from the games. I won't say which one I think is better for now - that'll probably come with time - but in my mind, they're about even. Now onto some last-minute comments which I have yet to say anywhere. First, *MARIO KART AND RAINBOW ROAD IS IN THE MOVIE?! WHAT?!?! I AM SO HYPED FOR THAT!* Really can't wait to see what role they will play. Second, Peach. I'm less interested in her design and more interested in the character that she is showing here. For ONCE, it doesn't look like she's going to be a useless damsel in distress who is all sweet and fluffy all the time, but rather, an actual princess with charm, wit, and brains, taking command against this massive force in the form of Bowser and the Koopas to protect her kingdom. Will she get kidnapped at some point in the movie? Probably. I'd be shocked if she doesn't. But I can tell you that unlike the games, it won't be without a fight, and that I could not be more excited for. In short, it looks like she's getting the character development that I have yet to see in the games. :D
From the moment I saw Illumination was handling the film, I knew that they were the right choice. They have a very "squeaky clean" type of animation/character design which really fits the Mario aesthetic IMO.
So this may sound strange, but it’s really hard for me to look at video game DK and hear Seth Rohan’s voice coming out of it. But when I see CK (Chad Kong) I can absolutely see Seth’s voice coming from it laugh and all. And that’s what really sells it for me.
I love how DK now actually looks like a grown up DK Jr. having grown up with NES. Seeing him in DKC was kinda weird at first but I immediately liked how bad ass he can be. I'm glad they managed to blend Miyamoto's OG design and Rare's. Mario's proportions in the video games, is really weird despite it's cartoony visuals. In Odyssey which is more obvious his body looks really weird. It looks cute at first glance but there's a couple of stances where he looks..... I'm glad they didn't go with the Toy Story/plastic-y look and static face and eye shapes the games have. Even their Smash HD cutscene look likely won't look that good in the big screen.
4:00 honestly I'm perfectly fine with that, I kinda like it actually because that way he is a bit unique in the sense that he doesn't look like he was ripped straight from game files, he's movie Mario, not game Mario. Same exact thing goes for Movie Sonic.
Koopa comes from kappa, a creature from Japanese folklore that Bowser and his minions once were. They were changed to just be turtles to make them familiar to overseas audiences.
I believe the donkey kong redesign was started to make him look more comedic, but mostly, to make him resemble his original design in the arcade game more and I think it certainly does that since dk in the arcade is much more broad whereas the modern dk has more shapes in his design
Peach in the games: Big eyes circle lips big earrings short eyebrows normal dress cartoony nose. Peach in the movie: Normal eyes human lips small earrings realistic dress realistic nose thin eyebrows.
Good luck to Michael Jelenic( in witch this his directorial debut [no he didn’t direct teen titans go to the movies]) and Aaron horvath on directing the movie and thanks , khary Payton for voicing the penguin king (for me khary Payton is the Kevin conroy of cyborg roles)
One thing that I prefer peach in the games for is her height. In the games she was clearly quite tall, even through proportions alone. In the movie, her proportions make her look short, even though she’s still quite a bit taller than Mario.
I think that mario's design in the movie helps flesh him out as just a normal guy make it seem like there is less of a chance that he wins then there is
I really like movie DK because he resembles classic arcade DK (which was actually Cranky but whatever) but still keeps details of his DKC design, it's a mix of both worlds.
For me bowser is the best redesign like they used the graphics from Mario odyssey and the style of Mario galaxy and combined them to create something incredibly cool and his voice just makes it even better that’s why every nintendo fan should watch the movie even from a poster you will love the movie
So long as they portray Peach as Peach and not Daisy, I’m ok with it
@Gaming User the hyper-feminine Trope is even more tired
@Riddle RoseHearts But they have other trait to make them theirs. Rainbow Dash is the atheletic and don’t think twice while Applejack is the straight man of the group.
@Khanh Nguyen ah so Applejack and Rainbow Dash being both Tomboys while also being vastly different is wrong and only 1 character can be a tomboy so by that logic only 1 woman in the entirw world should be a tomboy the rest should just be pretty little princesses that need saving all the time by a man

Going from: RAAAAAAAAH To: ReEeEeh
The voice could use a bit more "grrrrr" but that'll probably wreck the VA's throat.
Movie Bowser got them two front teeth with a gap, that really does it for me
@Arin Jäger i do and i agree.
I think Mario looked the best when he was looking at the leaky faucet. You also know the design for Peach is good when you can automatically hear Anya’s voice just from looking at the promotional poster.
@Bad Modder Bro I thought the same thing lol
@pk AnNa. Not AnYa

Agreed. Misandry guarantees failure.
@Charlotte Hamblinfacts
something I noticed is that the designs look SO much better when they're in motion

Yeah exactly
@Snake ye

Have you read the text on the back of the cartridges though? That´s the original story
Also remember how the fans hated sonics game accurate design
“Reel”
@TheHomelessToad i mean, i'm gonma watch the brazilian dub anyways, so i don't care that much.
@Isaac Mendes yea you right 😭

I have to Agree... Peach's design Is so beautiful. Like, every Little detail makes her look beautiful
Bro wtf
@APersonThat2 yeah I know I'm just messing around
@Farawaygaming this is the only time I can tolerate this though because peach actually looks really good.
Yeah, not to mention that Illumination is making movies with such realistic textures nowadays. The skin, the hair, the background, the clothes, and much more! This is a point that makes Peach more beautiful too
the face screams uncanny valley to me, I can't... >.>
I think all of the characters in this movie are incredibly well designed, and I have no doubt this will be one of the best movies of all time!
@Tien yup lol
@P huh
what drugs you on bro
Make sure you’re not having a soylent withdrawal
Nah it will not be good because they make peach a feminist
This is easily the best that Peach has ever looked! Absolutely perfect!

I think they made Mario more realistic since it seems they’re going into the idea that Mario and Luigi are from the real world, so making them look semi-normal fits that idea
@R18jura they were never gonna change it that drastically, Sega is known for risky dumb decisions but Nintendo is way more thoughtful
And remember the last film about a famous jump and run character and how the fans hated the “classic” design. I think they were really frightened to get a backlash on the design like sonic did.
With that in mind, maybe the fact that his actor can't do anything outside of a normal dude from the US, may not be so bad.
I just wanna point out the neat detail of the green from Bowser’s head bleeding onto his shoulders, showing the transition from yellow to green looks really organic and works well imo and it makes him look all the more creature-like
fun fact about the DK redesign
it is ment to be a mix between DKC DK and the DK found on the artwork of the original arcade game

DK’s redesign somehow looks both more cool and more goofy than his DKC design not that I’m complaining.
For Bowser you can actually see where his scales turn green around his upper shoulders which is a nice touch
I love the bowser design, and I can't help but feel like his expressions and face are designed after jack black, they way he talks and smiles etc. just looks perfect
I honestly really like the donkey kong design its alot closer to the original dk!
Honestly, he looks great. I don't get why everyone's hating it.
Last I remember, Donkey Kong was designed with the intention of having his movie incarnation look like a mix of Modern DK and the old arcade game.
Jejeje, i loved Your design XD
One minor overlooked thing about bowsers design is that the green from his head bleeds onto his body. I love that, as Ive always been confused as to why only his head was green
You put more gusto into that "wahoo!" at the beginning than Chris Pratt ever could.
One small thing that’s noticeable about bowser’s redesign is that his teeth are more spread in the middle. This is done so that his snout can serve as lips in order to make him a lot more expressive. A very small change that goes a long way

they're recognizable, yes (and not changed beyond recognition, which is good, very good, actually)
Movie Bowser is a flawless work of art. The voice, the design, perfection.
I love peach so much, I main her in every Mario game I can. I'm extremely happy with how she looks and feels in the trailer and posters. She's the peach I know, the peach I've been playing as all these years, only even more realized
oh hi alpharad
Luigi is the cutest
@The Fazbear Plush Show nah. Luigi is hottest.
@The Fazbear Plush Show "like a girl"
*"LIKE A GIRL"*
the fuck does that even mean????
Amen
@Marisa Chavez everyone claims that
Yo you mean cute like a puppy or cute like a girl? Cause in that case peach is the cutest.

I really like everything about the movie so far, from the designs to the voices and the visuals. It's all perfect for me.
I just want to say regarding Kamek's design, that he somehow looks more bone than the literal skeletons in the movie, which I find hilarious.
FINALLY, someone acknowledges that Peach is a decent character and not just a kidnapping victim! I'm so tired of people dismissing her as having no personality when it's just objectively not true.

I honestly think the designs are good. They don’t feel like they do in the games but for a 3D Render it could’ve looked worse.
Also finally someone acknowledged Luigi as a Ghostbuster!
@APersonThat2 XD
@💖PrincessPeachFan100💖 hi I’m daisy
I don’t know, she feels super off with that grin… It isn’t Peach, more like Daisy…
Gonna be honest with you, REALLY loved the way they managed to incorporate Jack Black's looks onto Bowser. Looking at him in the first trailer, it just really works
DK’s movie design feels like a mix between his gameboy and dkc design .
@APersonThat2 they should just not make her competent as a personality
@Javi A secas They just need a balance of the two. Honestly I get why they did that so the movie wouldn’t be a generic damsel in distress movie
She should be a hyper person not serious. She's supposed to be a happy go lucky girl, not a badass intelligent girl
@G not always
@G cookies like the foos
Honestly, they couldn't of done it any better. It's perfect, when watching the trailer I cannot stop smiling in excitement ready to watch this film.
The donkey kong redesign is too good, I loved that they mixed the actual donkey kong with their classic design
I like that they made Mario and the other characters look more real. They feel real, while also keeping the iconic stuff.
Bowser’s only big change in the movie appears to be a 3rd spike on his tail. He also has green on his shoulders by the looks of it.
I Honestly Really liked Donkey Kong redesign, give me Good Old Donkey Kong Arcade Vibes.:)
I absolutely love all the movie designs, to me they all are 10 out of 10, perfects adaptations of the games designs.
The only problem I have with bowser is that his nose is more "roundish" than in the games, which make him look less threatening in a way. Otherwise every design is good
One thing you forgot about bowser is he has extra green on the arms which I think is pretty good
Yeah I agree about enjoying Peach’s character
Her constant kidnappings in most of the games really affected the fanbase’s perception of her, and I hope Nintendo will do stuff what they did with her in games like Super Paper Mario and Mario RPG more in the future
Mario and Luigi look like their tv animated counterparts! I like it
Another thing that spawned from this (or atleast stoked the flames) was the ship between Bowser and Luigi.
Only thing I don’t like that hasn’t really been talked about by anyone, is the green scales on Bowser’s shoulders. I guess after seeing something iconic for so long, the smallest changes don’t feel right.
They somehow made donkey kong look like Seth Rogen and I'm here for it
Fun Fact: this is DK’s first redesign since Donkey Kong Country
Also the gameplay is great too.
i love what they did with bowser a lot
I like the DK re design as a blend of his first arcade appearance and his DK Country look.
One more small detail I noticed with the movie Toad design is that it looks like they actually have legs instead of just two feet attached to a bulbous body. It makes it look more like they're wearing little parachute pants instead of diapers!
I used to find Mario’s face weird, but it has really grown on me.
Illumination Bowser is an 11. No other way I can say it. I just fucking love his expressions
What I’m worried about for the movie is the story and the chemistry of the characters. The animation looks great overall.
Conclusion ; To make Bowser perfect, you give him Jack Black’s face
DK's movie design is a mixture of his Classic Arcade design and his Modern Rareware design.
I still can’t believe they went from a hard X rating to a PG rating just by removing the one scene where Mario was seductively eating a peach.
HAHAGA WHAT
From the moment I saw Illumination was handling the film, I knew that they were the right choice.
So far, it looks pretty good to me.
Even though it's being done by Illumination, I love a good underdog story!
i wanna see dk and bowser straight up brawl.. that’d be so cool
14:00 I think I have a reason. They made his eyes smaller, made the dark spot under the eyes more noticeable, and shortened his snout nose thing
DK’s new design reminds me a lot of the arcade Kong’s designs. I can’t really describe it, but it’s something about the eyes.
Honestly just glad Dry Bones is in the movie since he’s my favorite character
4:10, they're going in the direction of Mario coming from our world to the mushroom kingdom. An isekai, like in the Super Show
I love how he had to turn the Burger king logo backwards to not get sued 🤣
For me bowser is the best redesign like they used the graphics from Mario odyssey and the style of Mario galaxy and combined them to create something incredibly cool and his voice just makes it even better that’s why every nintendo fan should watch the movie even from a poster you will love the movie
I think that Peach's poster also deserves an 11 ^^ Her expression is just so perfect X3
I love how Mario FEELS short here
Maybe it's just me, but in the games he did look short ('cause y'know... _he is_ ), but he never felt like he was
