Chiefs fan here but if you’ve ever seen the light in ossai’s eyes when he smiles you know the gravity he has. To see him like this for a mistake he so clearly made even while in a tight game against my own team hurt. Young dude better be holding his head high the next he’s on the screen because the team follows suit. He’s got a bright future and years to develop things like this. As long as he doesn’t lose that joy he brings he’ll help them to at least 1 or 2 chips I can promise you that
@RoscoeB44 bro got mad. The person said "SOME Bills Fans" which mea- shi, I got worked up. Anyways, some means not all, so your not included. Also, literally all Football players get ran over lol, I mean, it's Football.
@G. Choppa suffering is ...suffering. sometimes it can be as a test of faith, sometimes it can not be. sometimes it is not for anything. I said earlier that it is an ineradicable part of life
@Ice one minute you say suffering about faith, the next you say suffering is not about faith. So tell me, ppl in desolate places where kids are starving to death, or victims of genocide, rape , murder, what is that suffering for ?
Both teams played with so much heart everyone put it all on the line and in the end the team that makes the least amount of mistakes wins. His mistake wasn’t the only one it was just the last. Looking forward to seeing them play again next year.
@Sha_everythingK It hit the catch net 10 foot from the top and went straight down. It was a massive kick. I've been to hundreds of games at Arrowhead and seen this a thousand times. Go back and look and you will see where it hits the net at and tell me it was low again.
Yeah, that 3rd down play still makes no sense. CIN stops them and the ref says it didn't count. But I'm not gonna cry about that, eventhough it was a bullsh*t call. Burrow had the ball with 2 minutes and 2 timeouts, he just didn't get it done.
As a bengals fan I’m of course disappointed over the loss but I hope this guy doesn’t get harshly criticized because it’s important to note that you win as a team and loss as a team but it was still a great game by both teams.
As a Bengals fan, it sucks too see something like that happen, but I lost respect for cbs for them repeatedly putting the camera on him in the most emotional moment of his life
@David Crime There should be a judgement call as to how bad the roughing play was. The standard one is to much of a overboard penalty when it was a very minor push
@David Crime The re do 3rd down was bogus and the roughing the passer was right but one push gives the Chiefs the game. There's gotta be a better way to do this rather then 15 yards and automatic first Down which ultimately decided the game. That's not truly winning
I saw a huge athlete try to go from full sprint to stop . Then I saw his knee buckle and hyper extend forward as his cleat dug in and stopped . Then I saw all of his torso weight flip over his hyperextended knee. I did see him reach out towards the QB in an effort to stop his own fall to the ground , just as he would reach for whatever player was near him at the time. That’s what I saw and I could care less who goes to the SB.
^^This. All the mouth breathers saying "what a dumb play, why do professionals do dumb things they shoulda learned in middle school" can go bite a wall.
made a point??!! how in the world does the film show that? He was in hot pursuit and made a poor split second decision..nothing on the film suggests it was intentional or malicious in any way
The Chiefs had an offsides penalty that likely cost them a trip to the SB in 2018. I felt terrible for that Cincy player, but it really was a late hit. Cincy is a good team though. I really don't see why they didn't get more attention than the Bills during the season.
@Avery NW the Bangles OLine was holding every down. How else could 3rd string linemen stop Clark and Jones not to mention Karlaftis. The refs were doing the bangles a favor all game. Calm down.
You guys got gifted the game. The BS was ALL freaking game, I don't even dislike the Chiefs either. Just total crap. Two clips on the return and two callable holds on that same play that should have negated.
If Chris Jones was rushing at full speed and sacks burrow and lands all his weight on him, I'm sure you'd be ok with a no call on that because, you know, he can't stop on a dime. That dude had no business shoving anyone that's out of bounds.
This is why equanimity is so important in football. Clearly a foul brought on by emotion. Without that foul, the Bengals certainly go to the Super Bowl. Kansas City’s offense was looking helpless with a gimpy Mahomes and down two receivers. The Bengals 100% win in OT here.
Brings back the awful memory of Shawn Crable’s late hit on Troy Smith and how it cost Michigan a huge game against Ohio State 15 (or so) years ago. Will never forgive Crable.
Ossai was a monster all night. The Bengals were in position to win this game in large part because of Ossai. That kid will learn from this and be great in his career. The blame should be on Burrow for not leading his team or willing his team to score on their last drive.
My Man makes the worst mistake possible and I’d be surprised if his knee wasn’t blown out too with how he fell on it. Looked nasty. I’d be crying too if I blew the game and my knee at once. The game is what it is, I hope his knee is good to go.
@Bengals Fan chiefs were favorites are you serious? Bro sports media analysts had chiefs not even making the playoffs with how stacked the AFC west was becoming in the preseason It was quite clear Bills we’re Super Bowl favorited this season
@Joey Valdez the bengals faced adversity for 2 years straight it's okay for the bengals to get disrespected time and time again but god forbid the bengals gloat for a little while after doubting all the haters who said last year was a fluke. chiefs and bengals have been a close games for 2 years now. if the bengals win that game by 3 it's a whole different conversation. bengals definitely had a tougher road to the big game again. i mean do u forget how the media praised the bills and chiefs before the season started? they were the favorites? the bengals took out the bills at home with ease just to have to go to the other top dog and do it again.
@Bengals Fan nah you came for our stadium and city don’t try to backtrack now😂 Let me help out bengals fans. Bengals are a PHENOMENAL team. But with that being said, karma does not favor the cocky. Talking all that bullshit just meant the universe was not going to gift you guys that superbowl trip😭 I hope the bengals make it next season but ffs, do it right this time‼️
@Joey Valdez u gonna cry about it? how bout the chiefs calling the afc championship game the "chiefs invitational" or pat mahomes brother dancing on sean taylors number at the redskins game. mahomes family and chiefs take the cake for cringiest team out there.
@AEnimaExists You had two possessions late in the game to take the lead and pissed down your leg. That ain't the refs fault. Also, they could have called the Bengals OL about 20 times for holding Chris Jones if you really want to nitpick instead of just taking the L.
He barely hit him and what's worse is the head ref not calling the obvious holding going on right in front of him. I don't usually focus on the whole ref narrative, but this game felt different. It really seemed like the refs were pulling for KC. NFL had to put Cincy in their place for their negative comments about the game cancellation.
@Olórin Martinez tbh there were missed calls on both sides and i couldnt care less who won the match because im a fan on neither teams, but what happened with that block in the back on the punt return not being called, the intentional grounding against joe burrow when Perine was standing four yards away from where the ball was thrown too, that late hit on burrow in the endzone, a pi which wasnt one and at last two KC O-liner holding each defensive end from the bengals either in a choke hold or grabbing them in the face to let that last play even happen proved that this game was an undeserved win for KC. But i hope Mahomes makes a good game in the Super Bowl.
@FrameWinnerTennis yeah, imagine your OLine holding on every down, then complaining about the refs. I mean, how else are 3rd string linemen gonna stop Clark and Jones. The refs were doing the Bangles a favor all game.
Dont forget about the BS calls against the Chiefs earlier in the game that negated a TD and a 40 yard punt return. Chiefs were the better team and they're going to the Super Bowl because of it.
You would be surprised on how spiteful teammates can be. It could be his last year as a bangle an his team gets on him to do better and he had a opportunity to get back at his team.
He has two years left. If the Bengals cut him that would be laughable and on par for the Bungals of old. Hell, I hope they do. Ossai will be a fantastic NFL player who executes at a high level for a decade or more.
There’s a little clip going to the locker room there’s a player yelling about it and other players are going to be thinkin’ some things. Players do that on regular blown plays whether they say something about it or not. It’s unfortunate to see a game like that basically end like that but the truth of the matter it’s still, “bruh, what were you thinking?”
Tough call. Obviously hit him out of bounds. Reminded me of the 30 yards in penalties the Steelers got in a playoff game several years ago. This team rarely makes these type of bonehead plays.
That’s why as a player you play better than the refs ref. Don’t leave the game to be decided by the refs in the first place, especially in Arrowhead where the chiefs get calls like it’s never going to go out of style
@ThePeoplesChamp it wasnt a do-over. The play shouldnt have ran. Everyone on the field being stupid and playing anyway doesnt change the fact that the play was whistled dead.
@ThePeoplesChamp idk what you talking cause Bengals had a chance with 2 mins left on the clock to put the game away but didn't. But nobody talks about that lol.
You're right it's called every time. However these type of plays are never as blatant as they seem at first glance and this play is no exception. Contact was made a fraction of a second after Mahomes barely stepped out of bounds. Mahomes body was still facing in a mostly going upfield direction. Every yard mattered there , very hard for the defensive player to let up and risk letting Mahomes scoot down the sideline for additional critical yards. QBs have become very adept at letting their body go with the hit and flying several yards further out of bounds. Again, it gets called every time. However it was a lot more bang - bang than people are making out.
Mahomes was clearly headed out of bounds well before he got there because of Ossai's pursuit. He had more than enough time to redirect his body, his impact was not imminent. It is way less bang-bang than you are making it out to be.
The commentator says that it would be a long FG attempt for the Chiefs to make from where Mahomes went out of bounds. But Mahomes appeared to have made the first down, and there were still eight seconds left on the clock. The Chiefs still had time to throw a sideline pass for a few yards, stop the clock, and then set up for a shorter FG. The defender's late hit made the FG attempt much shorter.
I am a steeler fan and Ngl after i realized My team was not going to reach the playoffs i was rooting for the bengals but after all the constant trash talking from bengals fans i was really wanting the bengals to get yeeted and humbled so this for me the result of this Game was beautiful
Made a horrible play and really messed up his knee. He dead legged at the end and that’s going to be some big damage. Horrible way to go out. That sucks for him man. I feel bad for the guy.
Great game and it was a good call. The main issue is the double standard that some QB’s get. Burrow was clearly hit well after passing and the ref looking right at it went blind.
Another overlooked mistake by the bengals: 48 seconds left and they call the time out on offense after a small gain, instead of letting the clock wind or force in Kansas City to take a time out. As soon as they called the time out I knew it was going to cost them.
I guess history repeats itself in some way, shape, or form. A Vontez Burfict penalty to lose the Bengals a playoff game against Pittsburgh, and now this.
Went to ASU with Vontaz Burfict. He was a dirty player then and continued with Bengals. Difference with Ossai is that he is a good person. Burfict was an out of control vicious animal. Ossai interview was as heartbreaking to listen as he felt
Except the Bengals lost on the series before, when Burrow was called for a grounding that wasn't. And then when the refs "missed" a clear KC block in the back on the punt return. And a couple of drives before that when there was convenient interfernce call against Cincy that never happened. Yes, history sure did repeat itself.
if you ever played football, you would know this is more in the category of running into the kicker where your momentum takes you into the kicker or roughing the qb, where it takes you into the qb. it happens so fast you don't realize your a step out of bounds.
It was close. It's really hard for defenders. Mahomes is notorious for tip toeing up the sideline when people let up, I feel like this was a lose lose for the defender.
Exactly ! I enjoy watching him play but I always cringe when he “fakes out” the defender for a few extra yards. The defense is usually pulling back thinking he’s going out but then he weasels out a few more yards. I would imagine the defender gets pissed that he let up on him so as not to draw a penalty and then he does that shit. It’s a chump move.
Crazy how this happens every game and every season it’s kinda dumb to see defensive players push a qb out or bounds when there clearly going to towards the line😒
Damned .. I thought you were going to answer the question why he did it. Oh well ... The NFL wanted Mahomes vs Hurts, Andy Reed vs his old team, Kelcee vs Kelcee. We all know why ... I won't spell it out here. But I'm sure smart people will see through it.
Here's my suggestion. Y'all should have a huge rally in Arizona on February 12th to show your outrage. Then y'all can storm the stadium during the National Anthem and demand a replay of the game. Only true football fans can make this happen! What could possibly go wrong?
Im usually not into conspiracy theories, but I still think it's BS that the NFL just gave KC the #1 seed. They should've worked something out because I know BUF was pissed. Giving KC the #1 seed forced BUF and CIN to knock the other out, while KC just waited on the winner. I also didn't like that 3rd down play where the ref let them have a do-over, that was bogus.
13 HB rushes the entire game. 2 & 3 w/ about 6 mins to go and Cinci throws 2 deep passes. That's how you lose close games. Bad game planning and play calling is why they were in that position in the first place. That was a dumb mistake, but they had the entire game to put themselves in better position and the coaching failed them.
Bro was running full speed and literally pushed him. Every yard counts at this point, I understand the push. I guess next time he should get him a pillow and blanket
@Blastimbre If pushing someone will give you a life altering injury then we should just ban any type of contact at that point. Or go play another sport
@Iateallthefries There are safety precautions for a reason. Or would you like it if half the league suffered from CTE and life altering injuries? The player broke a rule, that's all there is to it.
He ran him out of bounds. All he had to do was keep running. Don’t touch him. He already made the play but then reached out to touch him for no reason. In the words of big smoke “all you had to do is follow the damn train CJ!”
Can't beat Mahomes and the refs. MVS reach was not a first down, refs giving KC extra downs, phantom holds. Classic rigged game. 9 penalties vs 4. Bengals are normally a sound football team just not with this officiating crew.
I'm a Bengals fan. The team as a whole has been doing this shit all season. It's really not a surprise. They need to get some more heady guys in there.
His leg I literally gagged when they did the replay slowmo. Watching him cry at the very end made me so sad. We did great this year and I’m looking forward to next season. Whodey, and go eagles lol
@will I got more than definitive proof for you. You gonna feel reallllllly stupid when I show you how you're just dead wrong about this. You're not even trying to see it. If you took even 60 seconds to try to confirm it you would get objective evidence of this happening.
@will what's your email buddy? You wanna send me a picture, it's not some impossible feat. I literally have the screen-cap up right now of 58's right ankle hitting Mahomes left ankle, and seeing his feet trip up in 2 different angles. If I can prove it to you, you gotta make some kind of concession. $10?
@will getting your legs caught up is different than a hit. You can clearly see he fell because their ankles hit. You're looking at it as a fan, or just didn't see how he actually fell.
@moysonite no one is saying anything because it’s irrelevant. the only things relevant is if mahomes is in bounds or not and is there contact if mahomes is out. mahomes is clearly out and there is clearly contact after he is out. it’s the easiest call in the book because there is zero gray area about it. clear cut and defined
Been watching ossai since HS and while at Texas. He's a real good kid. Made a mistake but I also know any of his teammates will say the game shouldn't have come down to a penalty or one play.
Ossai is a bull, and he was doing what he was trained to do. RIP to the Bengals dude sitting on the bench who got crushed by Ossai. He learned what it feels like to have a grown man all up in his business.
@The_Shadow_Realm Nah. The Bengals can not cause an obvious penalty at a crucial moment in the game. Just like the refs didnt need to call the taunting penalty on the chiefs. IT GOES BOTH WAYS.
People talk about all the great plays he had on D, but that does not matter. He gets paid a lot of money to make those plays. Thats expected and, quite frankly, is his damn job. He and all the others players can never allow a penalty like that to happen, EVER, much less in the AFC championship game…it cost his team the game full stop.
Ossai is running full speed just trying to prevent Mahomes from getting the extra yardage. He needs to be more aware of where Mahomes is but it’s hard to stop his momentum when he’s giving it everything he’s got just to meet Mahomes on the sideline
true. yet he stuck out his arm to push him. rookie mistake. I would be surprised to see him in the bengals next year. I feel really bad for the kid though, he is only 22
@Akali OTP it’s not about that. He extends his arms to push him dude. Freeze frame it at 49 seconds and all he has to do is veer toward the field because Mahomes is already going out. If he runs into him then okay yah it’s because he couldn’t suddenly stop but dude blatantly extends both arms and shoved him a foot out of bounds
For those who don't get why this is such a huge deal. Just remember that CIN has to start paying guys this upcoming season and the next. Burrows contract will be ridiculous, then you have Chase and Higgins. So this team will lose alot of talent starting next season. They needed to take advantage of this small window.
When you paused it and said "he's out of bounds here" he actually wasn't. If you look at the overhead camera, his final step before getting pushed was still in bounds. The player makes contact with mahomes before mahomes foot touched the white line, the issue was, mahomes body was drifting out already. It was a close play that could have gone either way, but its not exactly "easy" for these big guys to stop on a dime to avoid a hit. The reason it was called was how hard he pushed mahomes, if he would have been under more control, Mahomes wouldn't have gotten tossed like he did. I can see why it was called, but at the same time it wasn't the most blatant late hit I've ever seen. I've seen worse not get called, particularly if you watched any of justin fields this season, he got hit late a lot and it was never called. More blatant cases than this. In the championship game, in my opinion, close calls should be no calls. Let the players play.
Being from cincy it sucks seeing the game end that way. But knowing how Philly has been playing. Our O line had no chance to even keep up this year in the superbowl. I’d much rather watch KC get destroyed the whole game.
@Shaun W Burfict was a menace! I don't know how he lives with himself.. (LOL probably quite well with the money he's made off of football)... but seriously that guy was an unsafe jerk in a relatively dangerous sport.
Made no difference. THe game was lost the series before when Burrow got called for a grounding that wasn't. The refs would've won this game then or in overtime. Worst officiated game in NFL history.
To be fair this play wasn't a tenth as vindictive as most of Burficts moments. But it was still a legit penalty, he didn't have to purposefully reach out and push Mahomes when they were both out of bounds.
Obviously this was a costly penalty but Joe and the rest of the team had their chances, at least twice, to march down the field. This should've been Mahomes scrambling to get a tying field goal, not the winning field goal.
They are told constantly "get after the QB," "make a play," etc. etc.. The great contradiction of football is that players must put everything on the line, at highest possible speed, until the very moment that someone steps out-of-bounds, or is "on the ground" or "slides" - and then its all off-limits. Its quite a contradiction and not always do-able, as Ossai shows
I agree it’s a bad play, and the penalty is too much for this play abut that HARDLY is the game determiner. Either they punt or miss a field goal, Bengals still have to score (not a given) or have to go to overtime. Btw, huge Bengal fan here!
Its a penalty, but based on what I read, I expected something way more egrigious. Those can be trick spots for defenders, especially when dealing with escape artists like Mahomes. It is and should be a penalty, but I cant be too hard on him for it.
You are blind and tripping. His momentum lmao. He curved to pursue Holmes then pushed him. Did momentum make him push the guy too! Stop making excuses!
@Joshuadude132 I’ve watched it again at low speed. I don’t say is a terrible call, but I’m saying it is a call that is object-able. It looks like his momentum is going that direction and it’s hard to stop on a dime. He didn’t give a blatant late hit. It was more of a momentum “shove” (It’s easy to not know if you’re in inbounds or outbounds, in the moment of purely concentrating on stopping your opponent) - I don’t think he should of be blamed for solely losing the game, because if this didn’t happen, the game would still be tied. It wasn’t like the Bengals were leading by a point with seconds to play. - I disagree with the commentator saying this is one of the most bonehead penalties in NFL history. Off the top my head I think you can thank ~Leon Lett for his high profile game penalties.
@Marcus McGraw LMAO wtf are you talking about terrible call? There were so many terrible calls this game obviously, and for both sides contrary to popular belief but this one was not a bad call. Watching this at 0.25 playback speed, 1 there feet do not get tangled no idea wtf youre talking about, 2. he did not reach out to brace his fall at the start he clearly pushed mahomes and then as he was falling from the force of pushing he then put his arm out to brace his fall. I dont believe people should freak out at this guy even though he did cost the Bengals that game but to say it was a terrible call is beyond delusional
@Spencer This might come as news to you, but when someone is running very fast, and somebody unexpectedly pushes them from behind, momentum makes it more likely that he's going to fall down forward. If you'll watch the play again, you'll see that Mahomes' intent was to get the first down and get out of bounds. Having accomplished that, he likely relaxed his body a little in the split second before the defender pushed him from behind. Because he was already out of bounds and the play was over, the defender committed a penalty by hitting him. If the defender hadn't extended his arms to push Mahomes even further, and instead just ran into him because of his momentum, that wouldn't have been a penalty. Because there were eight seconds left on the clock, Mahomes was probably thinking that they could throw a sideline pattern, get out of bounds, stop the clock, and set up for a shorter FG. But the penalty made that unnecessary.
he flopped onto himself... good timing not as fake looking or obvious as some but if you watch from behind its a total flop... way over sold. hes a mahomo
As long as he doesn’t lose that joy he brings he’ll help them to at least 1 or 2 chips I can promise you that
He’s marred after this one… even his own teammate was caught on camera castigating him for this penalty.
@RoscoeB44 bro got mad. The person said "SOME Bills Fans" which mea- shi, I got worked up. Anyways, some means not all, so your not included. Also, literally all Football players get ran over lol, I mean, it's Football.
Fake, gay
i really hope his knee’s alright too. the fact that he hurt himself on top of the penalty must be so tough mentally
@Jon DGAF Yeah and then crapped the bed 😂 Joe Cool in the 2 minute drill 🤮
The most interesting thing to me is that Ossai was having a fantastic game, even got a shout out from the officiating crew for his excellent play.
@Ice BS
@G. Choppa you dont know, thats what makes it a test
I felt really bad for the 49ers, but this takes the cake.
@Sha_everythingK he can easily do 60+ yard field goals.. and that last field goal wasn't low at all he could have went back another 10 yards.
@Arturo Roman they had to play Josh Johnson 4th string qb 😂 if the eagles didn’t win by 24 it would be sad
@Batman your first comment made no sense
@Sha_everythingK It hit the catch net 10 foot from the top and went straight down. It was a massive kick. I've been to hundreds of games at Arrowhead and seen this a thousand times. Go back and look and you will see where it hits the net at and tell me it was low again.
@Sha_everythingK I disagree.
Great game. This play will haunt Ossai forever.
@Chris Young nah I just have common sense
@Chris Young you didn’t have something called common sense
@Hector Perez Deliberately misunderstanding me is annoying...
Damn I felt so bad for him, he was sitting and crying his heart out for like 5 minutes.
@Chris Young get**
@Nlyoswag don’t matter
@Hector Perez I also don’t play in the nfl in the afc championship game
@Hector Perez it happened in a world where mistakes cost games, getting a pat on the back won’t make you learn from them. Try again
The officiating was crazy this game lol. On another note, I do feel bad for Ossai, but what’s done is done. I hope his knee is okay.
@aereal98 stack in the chiefs favor? Seriously? Did you forget that they removed a touchdown from us on 3rd down?
Facts
@Tony Pepperoni he hit mahomes so hard that he almost tore his own knee up.
Def in favor of KC last night....but it's about damn time because the last 3 times they met the Refs rode Burrow and the Bengals HARD
They didn't lose as a team, he fucked it up. He deserves what ever comes to him .
Lmao he cost the team a chance at the super bowl he should be criticized for the rest of his career
haha theres vids of his teammate in the tunnel screaming mad at him.
@Durango 88 dammit- I was laughing at my own joke and everything 🤦♂️
As a Bengals fan, it sucks too see something like that happen, but I lost respect for cbs for them repeatedly putting the camera on him in the most emotional moment of his life
Phon Seng who yo got Chiefs or Eagles
M M Welcome. Who you got Chiefs or Eagles??
@David Crime There should be a judgement call as to how bad the roughing play was. The standard one is to much of a overboard penalty when it was a very minor push
@David Crime The re do 3rd down was bogus and the roughing the passer was right but one push gives the Chiefs the game. There's gotta be a better way to do this rather then 15 yards and automatic first Down which ultimately decided the game. That's not truly winning
@Charles Gerety kindly explain how these bs calls affected the outcome of the game
Guess you missed him extending his arms to push him.
^^This. All the mouth breathers saying "what a dumb play, why do professionals do dumb things they shoulda learned in middle school" can go bite a wall.
You totally missed the foul. The foul/push happened well before that hyperextended knee.
It amazes me the amount of people complaining about the call. Dude made a point to hit him way out of bounds
Almost like he did that shit on purpose
made a point??!! how in the world does the film show that? He was in hot pursuit and made a poor split second decision..nothing on the film suggests it was intentional or malicious in any way
Right. Dude is apparently a bully but on Sunday Karma caught up with him and he and his team paid the price. GO KARMA!!!
Well it seems the o line made a point to hold 91 but that didnt get called
The Chiefs had an offsides penalty that likely cost them a trip to the SB in 2018. I felt terrible for that Cincy player, but it really was a late hit. Cincy is a good team though. I really don't see why they didn't get more attention than the Bills during the season.
@Avery NW the Bangles OLine was holding every down. How else could 3rd string linemen stop Clark and Jones not to mention Karlaftis. The refs were doing the bangles a favor all game. Calm down.
Watch Orlando brown on this play 🤡
You guys got gifted the game. The BS was ALL freaking game, I don't even dislike the Chiefs either. Just total crap. Two clips on the return and two callable holds on that same play that should have negated.
You can’t stop a guy going full boar it’s not a complete mistake by him he was going full speed and can’t stop on a dime.
He put his hands out to shove him, if he kept his hands down or tried to fall instead it would have been fine.
If Chris Jones was rushing at full speed and sacks burrow and lands all his weight on him, I'm sure you'd be ok with a no call on that because, you know, he can't stop on a dime. That dude had no business shoving anyone that's out of bounds.
It doesn't matter
I was hoping someone would say it!!!
Will never forgive Crable.
you dont equate college football with nfl. no one watches ncaa
The game is what it is, I hope his knee is good to go.
blame the offense,, 20 points,
Not even a bengals fan but i feel a lot of disappointment
@Bengals Fan chiefs were favorites are you serious?
Bro sports media analysts had chiefs not even making the playoffs with how stacked the AFC west was becoming in the preseason
It was quite clear Bills we’re Super Bowl favorited this season
@Joey Valdez the bengals faced adversity for 2 years straight it's okay for the bengals to get disrespected time and time again but god forbid the bengals gloat for a little while after doubting all the haters who said last year was a fluke. chiefs and bengals have been a close games for 2 years now. if the bengals win that game by 3 it's a whole different conversation. bengals definitely had a tougher road to the big game again. i mean do u forget how the media praised the bills and chiefs before the season started? they were the favorites? the bengals took out the bills at home with ease just to have to go to the other top dog and do it again.
@Bengals Fan nah you came for our stadium and city don’t try to backtrack now😂
Let me help out bengals fans. Bengals are a PHENOMENAL team. But with that being said, karma does not favor the cocky. Talking all that bullshit just meant the universe was not going to gift you guys that superbowl trip😭
I hope the bengals make it next season but ffs, do it right this time‼️
@Joey Valdez u gonna cry about it? how bout the chiefs calling the afc championship game the "chiefs invitational" or pat mahomes brother dancing on sean taylors number at the redskins game. mahomes family and chiefs take the cake for cringiest team out there.
@AEnimaExists You had two possessions late in the game to take the lead and pissed down your leg. That ain't the refs fault. Also, they could have called the Bengals OL about 20 times for holding Chris Jones if you really want to nitpick instead of just taking the L.
I’m truly amazed professional players do dumb things you learn not to do in Jr high football.
@Hector Perez iv never made mistakes wym? I’m perfect ur jus a loset
@Hector Perez nope
@Jay so you haven’t done any mistakes?
@Ray Cutler Then criticize burrow he had the awful inexcusable performance
He barely hit him and what's worse is the head ref not calling the obvious holding going on right in front of him. I don't usually focus on the whole ref narrative, but this game felt different. It really seemed like the refs were pulling for KC. NFL had to put Cincy in their place for their negative comments about the game cancellation.
@Archeerio Im not a fan of either team, but I don't like what I saw from the refs. Go look up the ref stats and you can clearly see who they favored.
This guy didnt watch the game both teams had bullshit, this game was close thats why it was a mess
Don’t forget about the missed block in the back by KC on the last kick return.
@Olórin Martinez "holding on every down" Cope harder you bungled the game 😂
@FrameWinnerTennis yeah, imagine your OLine holding on every down, then complaining about the refs. I mean, how else are 3rd string linemen gonna stop Clark and Jones. The refs were doing the Bangles a favor all game.
Dont forget about the BS calls against the Chiefs earlier in the game that negated a TD and a 40 yard punt return. Chiefs were the better team and they're going to the Super Bowl because of it.
Your nitpicking 😂 you do realize refs miss calls consistently every game your jus mar
Feels like what Dee Ford did in Mahomes' first AFC championship game.
Dee ford was soooo much than this one
M M it wasn’t Andy who got it passed it was Buffalo
M M lol true
M M league didn't care when the Chiefs wanted to change it...
He was actually trying to avoid slamming into his teammate and Mahones just happened to be there.
I've done the same thing instinctively before......this guy was a professional. No excuses. 👎
@John Box 😂😂😂
Maybe they will trade him to the Chiefs. 😉
@SparkyForce truthfully that’s the reason they lost, burrow sold this game
There’s a little clip going to the locker room there’s a player yelling about it and other players are going to be thinkin’ some things. Players do that on regular blown plays whether they say something about it or not. It’s unfortunate to see a game like that basically end like that but the truth of the matter it’s still, “bruh, what were you thinking?”
Ossai knee bent back pretty good 😮😮😮
During the replay it’s all I could look at!! 😳😳😳
Tough call. Obviously hit him out of bounds. Reminded me of the 30 yards in penalties the Steelers got in a playoff game several years ago. This team rarely makes these type of bonehead plays.
@Archer not really a hit. that level of contact happens all the time mahomes decided to flop
Watch the clear as day hold on Orlando brown here
@Archer those hits never get called he flopped dude
@Tony Pepperoni Late hit either way
he barely has a nudge on him and mahomes flopped
Ok, but this mistake can't change the unbelievable game from the refs. I love these teams, they deserve better referees.
@Nicolas Martinez It is impossible to play better than refs who cheat.
These referees checked the correct boxes.
@Gerald Settlemyer Yes, and even if he had missed the FG, the game would have gone into overtime, with the Chiefs having home field advantage.
They say that Butker has made kicks from 70 in practice, but I totally agree that they would have ran a quick sideline pass to make it shorter.
@kc bh butker already hit a 59 yarder( that same distance from where mahome went out of bounds) earlier this season in the cold as well
True,. but we won't talk about that. Plus this is the kickers home field, if anyone could kick a 60 yd in that cold , he could.
Same- coming from someone who’s torn their ACL he’s going to be in a really dark place the next few months
Great game and it was a good call. The main issue is the double standard that some QB’s get. Burrow was clearly hit well after passing and the ref looking right at it went blind.
This wasn’t a roughing the QB, this was a late hit. It would not have mattered who the hit was made on.
Great game. Great playing from both teams. Terrible refs however
Your avatar is awesome. I spent a good ten seconds trying to brush the eyelash off my phone.
Yes! That Valdez-Scatling advance was NOT a First Down... And I support KC
Another overlooked mistake by the bengals: 48 seconds left and they call the time out on offense after a small gain, instead of letting the clock wind or force in Kansas City to take a time out. As soon as they called the time out I knew it was going to cost them.
They were never going to let bengals win this game one way or another. RIGGED AT ITS FINEST
I guess history repeats itself in some way, shape, or form. A Vontez Burfict penalty to lose the Bengals a playoff game against Pittsburgh, and now this.
Just remember…Nobody’s Burfict.
His teammates just looked at him after the hit lol
Lol, yeah no one was concerned about his apparent knee injury.
In his defense, he probably didn’t realize they were that close to the sideline. Shit happens
He just ran by the 1st down marker, he knew exactly how close he was to the sideline.
No, there was nothing "close" about it, it was just stupid.
It looks like he was trying to avoid hitting his teammate Hilton and his momentum made him hit Mahomes inadvertently
Agreed. It definitely wasn't egregious.
Nah bro he hits mahomes way out of bounds, he was trying to hurt mahomes but hurt himself instead
Crazy how this happens every game and every season it’s kinda dumb to see defensive players push a qb out or bounds when there clearly going to towards the line😒
Seriously like they have no timeouts left and it’s a QB obviously he’s going out of bounds.😊
You're right this happens all during the regular season and never call it majority of the time
great video bro💯keep it up fr, the analysis is on point
Damned .. I thought you were going to answer the question why he did it. Oh well ... The NFL wanted Mahomes vs Hurts, Andy Reed vs his old team, Kelcee vs Kelcee. We all know why ... I won't spell it out here. But I'm sure smart people will see through it.
Here's your sign, it's made of aluminum foil so you can recycle it if you like.
@Baseball Worldwide yeah I just watched it back and yes he Indeed held
Yeah And not alot of people are smart enough to realize that
Here's my suggestion.
This could of easily gone to OT but sometimes people certrain things at the heat of the moment.
All I can say being a Philadelphia Eagle 🦅 fan. “Gooo Eagles!
Bro was running full speed and literally pushed him. Every yard counts at this point, I understand the push. I guess next time he should get him a pillow and blanket
@Blastimbre My point is that the rules are soft af. That includes the refs.
@Richard East I definitely don’t understand why this league so soft now
You don’t understood jack.
If I remember correctly, the announcers just got done complimenting Ossai. It’s out of frustration and probably being too tired to think.
He ran him out of bounds. All he had to do was keep running. Don’t touch him. He already made the play but then reached out to touch him for no reason. In the words of big smoke “all you had to do is follow the damn train CJ!”
One of the biggest blunders I can remember...if they don't get that penalty there's a great chance of Butker missing a longer field goal
Can't beat Mahomes and the refs. MVS reach was not a first down, refs giving KC extra downs, phantom holds. Classic rigged game. 9 penalties vs 4. Bengals are normally a sound football team just not with this officiating crew.
I wouldn't say that they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory but they did snatch defeat from the jaws of overtime.
Yeah I think it’d gone to ot
true. but lots of other “what ifs” in game.
I'm a Bengals fan. The team as a whole has been doing this shit all season. It's really not a surprise. They need to get some more heady guys in there.
Damn that was fast! 😂 I said ‘I wonder if someone posted that penalty yet?’ Yep. 😂
They left him in the field alone win or lose you never leave your brother good game guys
Thanks for this concise and easy to get explanation!
Heat of the moment, you’re pumping adrenaline, wanting to win so bad. Unless he owed the bookies and had to do it 😁
Okay but are we just gonna ignore the way Ossai's knee bent at the end of that play. 🙃😬😫
yah dummy did it to himself
Yes.
Was his fault
Thank You For Breaking This Down #ChiefsFan
The second he hit Mahomes he regretted it, and I feel so bad for him ❤️
Agreed I hope so
I’m not a big fan of the chiefs so
M M It is Mahomes after all. Don't count him out. The Eagles had no contest after beating the team with the worst QB injury luck of all time.
Been watching ossai since HS and while at Texas. He's a real good kid. Made a mistake but I also know any of his teammates will say the game shouldn't have come down to a penalty or one play.
@moysonite Crickets! LOL. #HoldthisL
@ThePeoplesChamp And you were soooooo sure you were right. Humble yourself.
WOW! You watched the game like millions of others did. CONGRATULATIONS!
He landed on His ankle on purpose . Nice chess move .
I dont know why but this made me laugh
Ossai is a bull, and he was doing what he was trained to do.
RIP to the Bengals dude sitting on the bench who got crushed by Ossai.
He learned what it feels like to have a grown man all up in his business.
M M sure thing bro. My Yoshimitsu game is sick. Wanna rock out?
@Mark Bay Yeah, I agree. The timing was very bad.
@The_Shadow_Realm Nah. The Bengals can not cause an obvious penalty at a crucial moment in the game. Just like the refs didnt need to call the taunting penalty on the chiefs. IT GOES BOTH WAYS.
No matter how great a career, some players will forever be remembered for one particular play ala Bill Buckner.
Leon Lett anyone?
People talk about all the great plays he had on D, but that does not matter. He gets paid a lot of money to make those plays. Thats expected and, quite frankly, is his damn job. He and all the others players can never allow a penalty like that to happen, EVER, much less in the AFC championship game…it cost his team the game full stop.
it's 95% momentum and falling out of bounds, but he gives that motion and intention of a shove, and that's all it took.
Yeah, swinging his arm like that sure didn't help his case.
No, he could have let up, it was very stupid, and I am not going to call it anything else.
Ossai is running full speed just trying to prevent Mahomes from getting the extra yardage. He needs to be more aware of where Mahomes is but it’s hard to stop his momentum when he’s giving it everything he’s got just to meet Mahomes on the sideline
Just a plain dumb..stupid play... He could have avoided Mahomes in this case...
True. But it looked like he used some upper body force well out of bounds before he hit the wall and injured his leg.
ossai could’ve easily went to the side where the bench was, instead he tried to take mahomo out, dirty hit.
@masc. He's a great player, they would be stupid to let him go over 1 play
true. yet he stuck out his arm to push him. rookie mistake. I would be surprised to see him in the bengals next year. I feel really bad for the kid though, he is only 22
What a way to blow it for your team. Unreal
@user-uk7yl3ks8j bro he clearly shoves him anybody would fall tf are you talking about
@Akali OTP Watch the replay again. He pushed Mahomes because he was caught up in the moment then dove to the side.
@Akali OTP Why push mahomes if it was just momentum?
Acting like he could immediately stop running? Lol
For those who don't get why this is such a huge deal. Just remember that CIN has to start paying guys this upcoming season and the next. Burrows contract will be ridiculous, then you have Chase and Higgins. So this team will lose alot of talent starting next season. They needed to take advantage of this small window.
They practiced that play all week.
How the refs can be so bad in a conf final ????
Ossai must be the second coming of Burfict with how he threw the game for the same team at the last second
Burfict- Decapitates a player
Ossai-Lightly blows on Mahomes's back
You- it's the same thing.
Yeah he’s still going to the bank to cash a big check, how stupid can a professional be, amazing
Not 1 of the commentators called it a dumb play.
#94 sucks for not getting to Mahomes and allowing him to turn that corner. C'mon man! Make the play!
We are cursed for late hits 😢
Obviously this was a costly penalty but Joe and the rest of the team had their chances, at least twice, to march down the field. This should've been Mahomes scrambling to get a tying field goal, not the winning field goal.
I’m not gonna lie that reverse had me confused at first😂
He is now the BILL BUCKNER of football!!!!
That’s the Bill’s kicker Scott Norwood in that first Super Bowl. He makes that kick, history is forever changed.
😂😢
They were saying something on twitter about how it should have been offset penalties because of a blatant holding call the refs missed.
It was just a small push.... But like in soccer now the theater of the players counts more than reality...
The game, the season, his knee, maybe his ankle, and his job all got wrecked on this play
Probably
JR Smith is somewhere like
"It's finally over" 😂🤣
People still remember Chris Webber calling the timeout when Michigan was out of timeouts.
@Ed Vega 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LeBron James: The hell it is.
It was 😂but this whole game was really weird the officials made some questionable calls.I have never seen a team get 5 downs.
Was hendrickson not being held on the same play? How would that've affected the play if it was called.
great video brokeep it up fr, the analysis is on point
So many players and coaches have incentives tied to making the playoffs and the Super Bowl so they have to be pissed
Damm He messed his Knee up and made a bonehead play to give go ahead winning FG to KV
Its a penalty, but based on what I read, I expected something way more egrigious. Those can be trick spots for defenders, especially when dealing with escape artists like Mahomes. It is and should be a penalty, but I cant be too hard on him for it.
Did anyone see Ossai hyperextend his knee? Ouch. Karma strikes down the wicked.
he followed the script perfectly.
It seems to me that it wasn’t a blatant late hit, & that it was his momentum that was going in that direction.
It was more of a momentum “shove”
(It’s easy to not know if you’re in inbounds or outbounds, in the moment of purely concentrating on stopping your opponent)
-
I don’t think he should of be blamed for solely losing the game, because if this didn’t happen, the game would still be tied. It wasn’t like the Bengals were leading by a point with seconds to play.
-
I disagree with the commentator saying this is one of the most bonehead penalties in NFL history.
I dont believe people should freak out at this guy even though he did cost the Bengals that game but to say it was a terrible call is beyond delusional
i think as spectators, we don't know how fast the game is... it's easy to say how the hell could he do this but everything is happening so fast... imo
@Olórin Martinez and who said it was not a penalty??
Still a penalty
As they say, hindsight is 20/20.
I feel so bad for him :(
@Easton White I was too. A loss is never fun, but it hurts more then people blame one person :(
Me too. I hate it for him
@Star_XP I about did and I was going for the Chiefs. I always feel bad for the opposing team after a big win
I wanted to cry with him bro 😔
No one talking about how his leg almost snapped in half because of it
@Joseph Jones oh duh yeah i forgot he hurt his knee. still a performance by mahomes anyone who says otherwise is dumb lol
Tony is so lost
@Tony Pepperoni hes talking about Ossai's knee, not Mahomes
he flopped onto himself... good timing not as fake looking or obvious as some but if you watch from behind its a total flop... way over sold. hes a mahomo
He’s not playing in the NFL due to his intelligence, I’m sure he’s not a very intelligent guy, but he’s got great physical skills.
