It's eerie how similar Brett and Aaron's careers have been while in Green Bay. Multiple MVPs, 1 superbowl win, records, then trying to displace the first round qb drafted to be the replacement, the retirement drama.

@Jon Hohensee You’re entitled to share that. Doesn’t matter to me. I just hope the Packers figure out what’s going on with their offense. They’re too good of a team for this to be who they are for the future. NFL isn’t the same without the Packers in the playoffs.

@IMP3TIGO Again someone just reading headlines but not actually looking past that. The year after The Packers won with Rodgers they were a coin flip away from making it back to back and Rodgers played well , it was back when the overtime rules were lesser and Seattle won the toss . Go back and look at all those losses and you will see that the defense either let up a ton of points and the run game was no where to be found.
Last thing , Brett had a way better roster to work with , I still love Brett but even Rodgers haters would tell you that Rodgers is the better of the 2 HoF QB's.
Either way your logic of saying Rodgers has lost is wrong when it was The Packers that lost . Look at The Manning Brothers , Eli beat The Pats 2 times and Payton never did , does that make Eli the better QB?
The only way to make Rodgers look bad is to act as if he is the only person playing when if you go back , overall it was other parts of the roster that lost The packers games , I am not saying Rodgers is Blameless and 1 of the losses was mostly on him with The 49ers loss but it was less to do with the last play and that in a low score game like that a talented QB should have been able to find a TD at some point that would have been enough to win , that only reason I do not fully blame him for the loss is at the same time in a cold weather game with one of the better RB duo's , The Packers HC Matt is getting a free ride since he should have been able to use to the run game more to win that type of game .

@edwin celestin He's complaining because he's getting inexperienced talent. Where they're drafted doesn't mean a thing or how much they're paying doesn't mean a thing if your help isn't necessarily up to par. Shannon should know this as Baltimore paid him to get his replacement up to par upon his departure. Which he's openly admitted. What Wr can whipp the others into shape there? O line gets moved around every few games. He's paid greatly to play musical chairs at the tail end of his career. No offense to the guys he's playing with but consistency wins. He doesn't have that at the moment.

@Jeff Moore I seem to remember a certain QB spinning a narrative that the media lied about his contract for 50 million a year, when they didn't, I seem to remember him living on Patt Macafee too. You came out swinging at someone who believes what a lot of people do. Including me, Rodgers is a drama queen always with the whining and idk if I wanna be here and hyping random people and saying it's about respect just to demand more money. He's annoying and it's annoying that because of him, I'm gonna have to heat about landing spots for him all offseason for like the 6th time.

That's just gross. Of course he thinking about mvp when y'all attacking the man ego. But w.e he got the mvps yall don't. Y'all wouldn't even have had any of these playoffs without Rogers. Rogers also later said "I am not interested in rebuilds, If I come back to play again... it's to win a super bowl"
Rogers did indeed mention the Super Bowl stuff. He just first went into his individual performance, because the media has been ragging on it. So he wanted to clarify that he thinks he hasn't slipped at all and can still play at an MVP level. So the question to him, isn't about his ability to play ball. It's about the situation to win a super bowl.

@Joe johnson I personally don’t see it that way. Football, of all sports, requires so many moving parts, and while one player(usually the QB) gets most of the spotlight(especially to laymen fans), no teams success and failure is all about one player, one play, etc. If anything, I actually put the most of the credit/blame on the coaching staff for a teams success/failure. Far more than the players for sure. That is because the difference between the best player in the league at any given position and the worst, is very minimal. That is why “any given Sunday” is a factual reality. Because it is all about match ups, more than it is the individual players themselves. Football, at its core, is the coaches/play callers playing a chess match, with the players being the pieces.
But, based on your logic - Doesn’t that mean, if the packers success all about a-aron, that when they fail, it is all about a-aron too? Or is beyond reproach?
If you want to put it all on him - I say GB looks exactly what you would expect them to look like - when a player of his supreme talent and skill set whom also takes up such a large amount of cap space that he does, which restricts the ability to add/retain quality players around him.
Which is all part of the reason why blaming anyone on the team more than him for them failing, is ignorant.
If you haven’t noticed, recent NFL history has shown that when a QB, no matter how good they are, eats up as much of the cap space as he does, a super bowl championship is very unlikely. Not saying that he should take less money, I certainly would not. But because he does take so much money, and then collapses as he does individually in the playoffs, ultimate team success is highly unlikely.

    • Joe johnson
      Joe johnson 2 ай бұрын

@Eugene Wood let me ask you this would the Packers be in the number one seed of the conference without Rodgers? No let alone the playoffs and that is why he won MVP without Rodgers the Packers would be the Texans on the NFC can we just agree on that

    • Eugene Wood
      Eugene Wood 2 ай бұрын

@Joe johnson Then he played far below his personal level of ability and skill set, with that exact same teams he “won the MVP and conference” with - with the number 1 seed… and choked at home.
And last year, it wasn’t like that choke happen against the winner of the super bowl. It was Jimmy G and a 9er team with a bunch of injuries. And again, it was in GB.

    • Eugene Wood
      Eugene Wood 2 ай бұрын

@Joe johnson When the a-Aron had his two MVP seasons and the packers were the number 1 seed, there were more than 3 pro bowlers and/or top players in the league on those teams. And he still choked.

    • Eugene Wood
      Eugene Wood 2 ай бұрын

@Dbva Vadb He did less to put his team in position to score, then Jimmy G did. And that, at it core, is the main responsibility of the QB.

@Lucas Why do you believe you speak for any players? A large portion of rank and file guys whom don’t get rich and only play 1 or 2 seasons and/or get lucky to even play meaningless minutes, would surely disagree with you.

I love Arod from the beginning. I absolutely adored him from 2012 onward. 2020 was our last chance. He played lights out, we had the homefield advantage throughout, other teams were injury-ridden (e.g. Rams, Chiefs) and in all fairness he played well enough in the NFCCG until the 4th qtr. But after 17 years it's time. We should've parted ways after last season. He should have left for his own sanity and self-esteem because Gutekunst and Murphy did him dirty after his downyear in 2018/19. 49ers wanted him, Denver courted him and both teams would've cherished him. And Packers could've made a decision on Love and started the rebuild with some valuable picks. Now, it's a lose-lose-situation.

@Aroden Tom Brady has been consistently good enough to win in the playoffs and the SB. I agree with that. But consistently good is a stretch when I can nitpick many more poor games from him or any other great compared to Rodgers. No QB is consistently good in the playoffs. But as long as ur consistently good enough that’s all that matters. And when u have an amazing team around you that reduced the amount required for a QB to perform

I think it’s time to move on from Aaron and go forward with Love. The team, specifically the receivers are very young so you’d essentially be starting over with a young roster and build up from there now. Because you’re not going any farther with Aaron then you are now. He’s already shown recently that winning the MVP won’t maximize their chances in the playoffs. He may could do more somewhere else, but right now I just think it’s time to start over in Green Bay.

Despite the critics, Rodgers has played well in the playoffs. He's got 45 touchdowns to 13 interceptions and a 100 passer rating. He's had some ups and downs but the lack of playoff success is more of a team problem. He's almost never had elite defenses, and Green Bay's offensive line and running game are usually not great either.

@The Bike Watcher He's simply talking about what he thinks his level of play could still be. It would be kinda silly for him to say he thinks he could win a Super Bowl. A championship is a TEAM accomplishment - so saying that he thinks HE could win a Super Bowl would be foolish and idiotic. You're just so biased against him that your brain twists his message. Also in that interview he said he wants to go somewhere where there is a decent chance to TO WIN A SUPER BOWL. But of course you're too caught up in your bias to give that any weight.

@SkylerTh3Creator Stop what? He wants to win, he takes pay cuts to allow teams to be built around him. He would rather win the Super Bowl every year as a team, than he would MVP as an individual. Why play a team sport other than to win as a team? Brady has been the league MVP, he has multiple Super Bowl MVP's and is .700 in the Super Bowl alone. Rings > MVP. You are the one who needs to "stop".

@Corderro Faulkner The same defense that helped them get the number 1 seed to m the playoffs. He did not do that all himself. Was it last year when Jimmy G outplayed him in GB. Defense didn’t give up very many points, and he collapsed. Look at this year, GB was only in playoff contention because of the defense and running game.

Love the sides of this both skip and Shannon have great points as I’m a huge fan of packers. But what I have seen out of the organization throughout his career minus last couple seasons. Is they didn’t add help on the offensive line after that Super Bowl season their offense line was terrible for couple of seasons and than you go on to say he’s a choke artist but when they have chance to make playoffs and they could use help at wide receiver due to injuries but instead go without I don’t know I know what he’s getting for money is crazy but is just getting what he feels is owed to him because he’s always taking the hits in the press conference after tough games losses. This being in the spot light and that medical stuff he’s doing. What happened to the glory days of Rodgers hitting Jordy in stride those days of throwing the smoke them sign to him don’t get me wrong Addams is great in his own respect. But there was a time we’re they could have helped Adam’s by bringing in a bit better than lizard. So maybe this is his way of controlling them for not getting him talent before who knows but it’s definitely getting to be the new normal.

      Here are the facts:
Starr was 9-1 in the playoffs (90%, 16 Seasons, 2 Super Bowl wins)
Favre was 13-11 in the playoffs (54%, 16 Seasons, 2 Super Bowls, 1 win)
Rodgers is 12-10 in the playoffs (54%, 18 Seasons, 1 Super Bowl Win)
Despite being the most skilled QB out of the Super Bowl winning Packers QB, as well as playing for the team the longest, he has done the least. Add in the fact that when he doesn't play well, he deflects responsibility and blames his teammates. Rodgers has had a Super Bowl caliber team for most of his career. That is the perfect combination for fan fatigue.
I am ready to see what this new kid can do. That's my opinion. Name calling doesn't legitimize your argument.

@Chad Porter You are blind or delusional. Rodgers showed a lot of potential before he got the starting job. Jordan has not. And you only imagine that Aaron is concerned mostly with individual accomplishments these days. Where's your evidence??? He didn't just say the words "Super Bowl", he said he would rather be on a team that has a real shot at getting there. But all those irrational Aaron-haters out there, including yourself, just want to dismiss that. It's really kinda funny... and sad.

    • Chad Porter

@Jon Hohensee A fool? Did you embrace Aaron Rodgers out the gate? Probably not. Rodgers got to start in 2008. He won a Super Bowl in 2010. After a couple years, he was only concerned with his own accomplishments. He was once young, had something to prove, and won a Super Bowl. He may have said the words "Super Bowl", but we all know what he is thinking because anytime he is doing an interview, the point he highlights the most is his how he was MVP.
Fast forward to this next year. If Jordan Love starts, he will be in the same position. He will have to prove himself. I was worried, but eager to see Rodgers. Now I'm eager to see Love get his chance.

For me the best situation he might get in from a trade that’s actually realistic is the Jets. They have the picks and cap space to handle him. Now the division is tough. That division had the 2nd highest win rate in the AFC right after AFC North and that was with the Jets being last in the division. The Patriots are a decent team and the Dolphins when Tua plays is really good. But the only thing that held the Jets down was their offense and with Breece Hall returning from injury and an actual QB with Rodgers along with that defense, they would certainly be the 2nd best team in that division right below the Bills. The AFC certainly doesn’t have any teams that would make it difficult for them to not get a Wild Card spot. They may even avoid playing the 3 monsters of the AFC in the Wild Card round. That team gives him the best chance to get far in my opinion. The AFC has more top tier teams but there is no team in the AFC that has a roster as good as the Jets considering how his contract is structured. This deal might be a Russell Wilson type deal if Rodgers doesn’t elevate to that level but with Rodgers’ talk about retiring and no contract extensions, it won’t hurt them in the long run for long.
