I just started a new job and found out that my coworkers are obsessed with your videos. They have a lunch zoom call each time there’s a new video to watch and talk about it 😂
When you rip out two rooms full of cabinets and stuff and at the end of the day still look like you've just left a spa, you're definitely a WARRIOR GIRL!
These vids of yours should be required viewing at every school in the WORLD! Especially by girls. They show perseverance, hard work, determination, brains over brawn, reusing everything there is, and a good attitude will overcome everything.
For the door with the pretty broken glass, you can replace it with a plain piece of glass and then use your Cricut to cut out any pattern you design/find/like. To set the pattern, use glass etch! You can totally customize the door inexpensively! And I know you have the skills and creativity to pull if off!
So I was watching another DIY’r and they put their hardware in boiling water and let it sit for like 20 minutes and the paint literally fell off. No harsh chemicals needed. 😀
My cheeks hurt from smiling during this video! Way to go, Mac!! The pride you take in your new home and putting in the sweat equity is admirable! I'm so dang happy for you!! ❤
You are amazing! I can’t believe you demo-ed that entire kitchen and laundry room by yourself! And i also want to commend your filming and editing. I know setting up the camera for all the various angles takes time as well. You are doing a great job!
Holy cow, can’t wait to see the finished home. I can totally relate to this endeavor. We renovated a 200 year-old stone farm house 20 years ago. (Now I’m redoing rooms and adding an addition 🤣)
OMG you did so much in one day plus you filmed it which wasn't easy to do them all. And I really admire the way you appreciate the history of this house and trying to save as much as you can and reuse 🥰 your example teaches us to reuse anything we can ❤ thank you ❤
When women want something done, they can get it done. It’s always great if we have a husband or boyfriend to help, but not all women have that person in their lives. So you go girl...!!! Your parents taught you well.
The message we need to send is that we as women CAN do "manual" jobs. We do not have to wait for a male to do them for us. We can learn and persevere and succeed. We just need to be patient, do the homework, work the process, and before you know it...BAM❗👍🤩
I feel so invested in this transformation. A little crazy, but this happens to us followers. I am proud of you kicking the butt of that demo. I live in Allen, Texas and am closer to your Mom’s age. But, I can’t wait to see every step you take on the renovation. I am sure I will be a visitor to one of your cottages someday.
You know that door with the broken glass panel, that is just an acid etched design. You can actually get glass acid etching kits at craft stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Blick (I think) but definitely HL or Michaels, and they’re relatively inexpensive. All you need is glass to fit the door, the design you like and the kit. So you could totally diy something custom that you’ll love forever for significantly less than purchasing new or vintage.
I love etching cream, there are so many projects you can do with it. If you have a cricut you can cut vinyl stencils to use with etching cream but I just use an exacto knife on contact paper. Some stores have it locked up with the spray paint because it can be used for vandalism.
I LOVE that you did all this by yourself! Such an inspiration and motivation to watch! Also, I hope you're saving and using those pretty kitchen cabinet handles somewhere else, they look beautiful! When we renovated our kitchen last year that originally was from 1965 we saved the cabinet hardware and re-used them for the new cabinets and I think that detail is my favourite in there now!
I love that you demoed the way you did. My husband always complains about TV demos bc the easiest and best way to take cabinets out is what you did, not smashing them like they do on all/most of the home reno shows on TV! 💕
I have no interest in ever remodeling a house myself, but seeing you do everything you did in this video is so inspiring! Like I feel I could do anything I want if i just out my mind to it! Love watching your videos!
A couple of things: 1. You are so incredibly positive and uplifting. Thank you! 2. I am living vicariously through you because my husband and I want to do this so bad, but we need to build up our savings first! 3. I have been waiting for this! Some serious demo happening! Can't wait to see more!
9:5014:23 When she ripped up that floor, I almost screamed. That floor was hideous. I love what you're doing with the cottage! Your joy just reflects on me everytime I click on one of these videos and they always make my day better. Keep up the amazing work, girl! 14:18 Leaning tower of cabinets!
Girl ... no one could ever accuse you of being scared of hard work! I got SO tired just watching you. I come back every time though cause your happiness is so contagious ... oh , and for Kinsley ... ALWAYS for Kinsley.❤️💋🐶 Great job. ⭐️ Thanks for taking us all along as your transform this house into your new home. Take care and stay safe. Louise 🥰
You give me hope for when I finally get to own my own home! I can't wait to start doing things like this! I am getting such inspiration from you! 🥰 Thank you for being amazing!
My parents live in a 100 year old house in San Antonio. Our house has original to the house glass door knobs. My mom has always said that if she sells the house, she’s taking the door knobs! Maybe that’s what the previous owners did!
Congratulations! You’ve inspired me to do this kind of work when I buy my next house. I’m no longer afraid to deal with an old structure. Thank you for showing that a feminine woman can use her brains and meet her goals even when the job traditionally was only tackled by men because of their superior muscle strength. God bless you smart and pretty woman!
I have Muscular Dystrophy got it later in life and before this afflicted me I was just like you, in saying that I live vicariously through you and I want to thank you for sharing all your hard work. You, your mom, dad, Romeo and furrbaby are all so UHmazing. Your attitude is so contagious, love you girl and I wish you only but the best. God bless and stay safe!🥰♥️
@XOMaCenna great tip if you are reusing doors, go ahead and mark/note and save the the door frames as well if possible. IF the frames are in good use, ESPECIALLY THE TRIM, it will cut down on time and money. It can get pricy having to get all new door frames in a home. TRUST ME. its nice when everything is already there and you just need to move it around. Sometimes you can save it sometimes you can't, just thought it was worth a mention. love to see your progress!
You had me holding my breath when you were standing on the sink and tearing off the cabinets. But, as you said, it’s best to work smart than work hard! So impressive. Can’t wait for the next episode!
I LOVE this video, I think it’s my favorite so far in this series. Demo seems so intimidating to me and I admire you so much for jumping in and going for it! You are a role model and inspiring 🥰 great job!!!
Wow I’m impressed that you demolished it all by yourself, and managed to film it in a dynamic fashion at the same time !! Well done! It’s so nice to be able to follow your progress! 👏💪💥
Wow you got so much done!! And then I remembered you're moving the camera around as you go for different shots! This cottage demo and rebuild series is awesome and so exciting!
It's all looking amazing! 😍 It does make me laugh when you call it the cottage though, it's so big and has amazing high ceilings in contrast to what we would call a cottage in the UK. Can't wait to see it all finished! 🎉
I’m currently renovating a 110 year old Queenslander in Australia so I can relate to all of your videos right now! I know how much work goes into all of this, keep it up!
Amazing effort! Never tackled that much, solo. But did something similar, on a much, much smaller structure from the mid 1800s, dismantling, piece by piece, taking note of how heavy everything is, how to reverse engineer in some respects. (Definitely something gratifying about the demolition process.) Then the weight of everything you haul back in when remodeling. Makes one even more respectful of the force of Mother Nature when she gets angry. Able to blow through, and in seconds, totally destroy a house (all the time and effort that went into creating it).
What an accomplishment! You did such a great job and you're such an inspiration. I can't wait to see how the cottage and the rest of the property progresses.
If other people are doing a kitchen cabinet demo with cabinets that are in pretty good shape, check with your local Habitat for Humanity. Many of them offer a service to come and collect the cabinets to support their building projects. Love seeing the transformation so far, keep it up!
Wow MaCenna, you did that! You are amazing. At this point I am so invested with this project. I can’t wait to see how beautiful this space will look when it’s finished. Good job!
MaCenna, you are A-MA-ZING ! Your energy is uplifting. Your videos are a medicine by themselves. You are so empowering : watching you tackling such a huge project encourages me to do stuff and to keep rolling with my own projects :)
the most fun thing for me to think about is how there's a gap between the progress being made over there and the footage of that progress being uploaded here, so I keep thinking who knows WHAT stage this all is currently going through in real time! The guest cottage could be actively being built right now and we just don't see it yet! Idk why, but it's fascinating to me to think what's going on far away from me in the world at the present moment. I probably say this all the time, but I'm so excited for you!! I hope things are going well, whatever stage of the process you are going through right now!
Just a friendly heads up- concrete floors still draw moisture up into the bottoms of your doors- using a tarp underneeth helps a ton. It made our doors swell and we had to plane them down to make them fit correctly. You're doing an amazing job!
I have loved your old refo videos. I cant wait to see your cottage come together.you have such a great personality and so happy that it shines through.this home will be so special becaues you did the work yourselves.
You are one unique young woman. To see you so happy while working on such a challenging old house, really impresses me. And might I add...SO STRONG!!! girl you got it going on for sure. These videos are so fun to watch...excited to see what is next🤩
I love how well thought out your project is. I've seen so many other people who try similar projects and their thought process or video documentation was so disjointed. I can't wait to follow along your journey and hopefully stay in your cottage one day!
There are so many DIY videos on KZclip you can do so much by yourself. You can resell things you don't want. My sister took her unwanted items to Goodwill and they gave her a receipt that she used for a write off from her taxes.
I was at our new rental yesterday painting, by myself, and when I video chatted with my mom, she said "I just watched MaCenna and she's at the cottage doing DIY work all by herself too!" She always says you remind her of me. I guess it's that, "Why not?" attitude! 😁 If you're ever passing through Oklahoma, hit up your "sister from another mister"! 😂
Macenna , you are a total rockstar! I just love your positive attitude and your energy explodes thru the screen. Thank you for taking us along on your Reno journey. I am from the San Antonio area and can’t wait to come stay at your guest cottage one day. :)
I been watching ever since she bought this house & been watching every video she posts about the house. I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHEN SHES COMPLETELY DONE! Anxiously waiting lol
"I did this! I did this all by myself!" Can we say girl power?!? LOVE it!
I’m livinggggg for these videos! How am I a day late??
Drew! Excited for your own house in the *near future* too! 🙈🤎
I’m 2 days late 😂
I am 1000% sure we will be watching your own home reno in a few years or less!
You’re the most happy person and such a joy to watch! You need merch that says “I did it myself!!”
You’re the definition of “it’s okay I’ll do it myself”
Definitely!! 🖤
So true
Love seeing you tackling this house! All empty makes it so much easier to see your visions.
I just started a new job and found out that my coworkers are obsessed with your videos. They have a lunch zoom call each time there’s a new video to watch and talk about it 😂
That's awesome!
Oh my God, jealousssss
LOVE IT!! What a great place to work!💖
You did great... Your energy and personality is so uplifting...
When you rip out two rooms full of cabinets and stuff and at the end of the day still look like you've just left a spa, you're definitely a WARRIOR GIRL!

So I was watching another DIY’r and they put their hardware in boiling water and let it sit for like 20 minutes and the paint literally fell off. No harsh chemicals needed. 😀
I think an old crock pot
these are amazing tips I never heard of! thanks 😊
I've boiled hinges in vinegar and water. The paint peeled/fell off.
I’ve seen someone use an old crock pot dedicated to stripping hardware. Worked great. I’m pretty she did t I’ve any harsh chemicals.
Don’t know why but I love it when you scream with your mask on your always so positive about everything I LOVE IT PERIODT
@J.A. Moore I think so he was taking the fridge, washer and dryer!
@XO, MaCenna
Is that your Dad at 15:53 ?
Not many women would take the hard work in their hands. Normally they would pay someone or ask someone to help and then they would say I did it.
HHahha 🥰 thank you

Mad props to you, girl!! You make all of us women SO proud!
Girl... you are a BEAST!
🥰🥰🥰
I love that you’re this combination of super organised and planned but also creative and stylish. Your home is going to be beautiful. Go girl! 💪
Never underestimate the power of a strong woman. 💪 👩. Go go girl. ❤️

I wondered if someone STOLE them when the house was vacant!
I have so much respect for you, watching you renovate this house piece by piece. Incredible! You're a queen. I love this series.
Anyone else felt so proud watching her demo the kitchen?
Congratulations! You’ve inspired me to do this kind of work when I buy my next house. I’m no longer afraid to deal with an old structure. Your dad zipping around in the bulldozer last time had me smiling. He was whipping it around like a boss.

Perfect content for Women’s History Month. Youre an empowering woman and I appreciate you sharing your journey on this project with us!
This is without a doubt the most exciting “series” on KZclip!! 🤩

This is some serious girl power. Macenna, you’re my hero!
Macenna has such a teacher vib today. So could see her teaching our kids xo
I’m so invested in your renovation process. I love everything you are doing, great job ☺️
Everytime a cabinet starts to fall I get so scared that she can get hurt. Macenna, girl you are a beast. Girl power. 🦸♀️

I’m so excited every week to see what’s happening at your house!
You did it!, Girl power!
You got so much accomplished! I'm so loving and following the demolition and transitions.
What an accomplishment! You did such a great job and you're such an inspiration. I can't wait to see how the cottage and the rest of the property progresses.

A girl after my own heart. My friend is sooo surprised that I come over her home with tools to help her.
The first thing that came to my mind was “those kitchen cabinets will make a lot of great scrapwood and wood pieces for future projects” 😂
I love to hear how excited you get when you go to the cottage, girl you are a BEAST at DEMOLITION!!!!!!!! I love your journey ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have loved your old refo videos. I cant wait to see your cottage come together.you have such a great personality and so happy that it shines through.this home will be so special becaues you did the work yourselves.
You got this. So exciting to see the transformation. You go girl!
I’m here for the energy and positive vibes! So inspiring.
You are one unique young woman. To see you so happy while working on such a challenging old house, really impresses me. And might I add...SO STRONG!!! girl you got it going on for sure. These videos are so fun to watch...excited to see what is next🤩
wow how inspirational to see this! you did such a great job and are probably so proud of yourself!!!!!!! :):) great work girlie
I love how well thought out your project is. I've seen so many other people who try similar projects and their thought process or video documentation was so disjointed. I can't wait to follow along your journey and hopefully stay in your cottage one day!
This makes me want to do this to my house. I've lived here for 20yrs 😆😂
@Zoe Patch 14 years here, but who's counting? haha 😄
There are so many DIY videos on KZclip you can do so much by yourself. You can resell things you don't want. My sister took her unwanted items to Goodwill and they gave her a receipt that she used for a write off from her taxes.
It’s really awesome to see you do so much of this yourself. I can’t wait til I can buy a house and tackle it.
xx
Girl! You’re a powerhouse! Go you getting all this done on your own!! Inspirational 🥰🎉
I am learning so much from you! This is so exciting and it makes me want to redo a house!!
Congrats on doing the demo by yourself, you're like a machine!
This series is so empowering to watch.. thankyou for sharing this journey with us. Love to see how you glow with joy while working on this project.🥰
That was a lot of hard work on your own - well done !!!
I was at our new rental yesterday painting, by myself, and when I video chatted with my mom, she said "I just watched MaCenna and she's at the cottage doing DIY work all by herself too!" Macenna , you are a total rockstar! I just love your positive attitude and your energy explodes thru the screen. Thank you for taking us along on your Reno journey. I am from the San Antonio area and can’t wait to come stay at your guest cottage one day. :)
I'm so excited to watch this project unfold. With all that removed you can really visualize the space
I love watching this transformation! Can’t wait for all the fun videos to come!😁
I can not Express how much I love this ! You give off such amazing good vibes !
did you save the kitchen cabinets handles ? they looked pretty on camera ✨✨
I’m am so proud of your efforts! You rock Chica!
I been watching ever since she bought this house & been watching every video she posts about the house. I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHEN SHES COMPLETELY DONE! Anxiously waiting lol
So impressive you did this all by yourself. Taking notes for when we buy our next home!
