For Tip 5, the circular labels should go on the lids making it easy to find the right spice when looking from top.

YES! It gives me so much more space for more spices by labelling the lids.

And if he did that, he would be able to easily use that space between the jars for another row of them.

Drew, a bonus for those spice jars, when you need more spices, you can go to your closest bulk foods or natural food shop, and they will almost always have bulk spices, where you can weigh your jar, and then just fill it up! no buying new jars every time you need spices!

The organization bug bit me about 3 weeks ago, and I’ve been organizing different parts of the house like a mad woman when I get the chance. The spice jar tip was hands-down my favorite! Thank you!

@Rue I work with kids so the rhythm of every year for me stays the same. So I just felt that natural end of year clean out push.
We did a big cleaning and purging moment end of august before an international trip. Trickiest part is budgeting for all the org supplies.
I procrastinate a ton, I’m easily overwhelmed and my adhd is difficult to manage. But all these organizational systems I’m building should help me be consistent over time!

For your clear canisters - put a sticker on the bottom where you won’t see it and put the expiry date on it. It doesn’t show but you get to make sure you aren’t letting things sit too long. Salt & sugar don’t really expire but it’s handy for things that do.

Right in the middle of watching your video, I popped onto Amazon and bought nearly £200 of shelves, containers, etc., to try and organize a few cupboards that have been driving me crazy the last SEVEN YEARS. You are so right - organizing videos are highly motivating. I'm going to try the garbage bag roller idea - got two of those ordered as one for my recycling bags. Anything to make life simpler and more organized!!!

Would totally love ❤ more organizational tips & hacks! Added note: for at least some items (e.g. flour) in those lovely glass jars, I usually put a strip of masking tape on the bottom with the expiry. If it’s one you can’t see through, I clip the portion off the package (along with any special instructions I want to keep, like how to make self rising flour) and toss it in there after wiping it off. Another option is to write it (the expiry) directly on the jar with a sharpie - it washes right off with soap and water.

Great tips thank you! I would love to see a dark academia themed room make over/room ideas/diys from you , your styling tips are always on point 😊 I'm not into the death/witch/taro aspect of it, I just love the dark moody vintage library feel with a slight gothic twist and earthy tones 😍 but it's very hard to bring that into a standard house and make it look right.

Organization rule #1 - sounds tough but really simple once you start living by it: For every single item you bring into your home, donate, re-purpose, or gift 2 like items. My closets and storage shelves throughout my home have not been the same in the 15 yrs since I instituted this rule for myself. Amazing how I can clean out a space now & it stays organized!!

Great tips. I like to put my garbage bags in a baggie and put them on the bottom of the can. That way it's easy to change out the garbage to a new bag. Drew you are so amazing, thanks for helping the English family. Thanks also for another amazing video about organizing I got a lot of ideas to make my kitchen better, I did get those spice jars a couple years ago, and at the time they didn't come with those cute labels, so I DIYd my jars, and I totally love how great my spices have looked. I love the organizing you did in your fridge, which also brings me to do the same in mine, I also have a small pantry which I just recently organized, I love an organized space because it makes it so much easier to find things and know what you have. Thanks once again Drew, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

Thanks for the organizational boost needed to do a few things in my space. I’ve had a vanity table and new seat that I needed to put together and place in my bedroom for awhile now, watching this video was the motivator. I’m always buying organizational products but then holding off until I can do a full sweep of a space....cleaning, sorting, redecorating and then I get the “stuff” organized and in their proper drawers, cabinets, bins...etc. Hat-tip to you and cut to me watching you get your kitchen spaces more useful and organized!! Love it!

I will be remolding my kitchen next year. I never would have thought of putting removable shelves in my kitchen cabinets. I will be using that idea when remodeling to my cabinets. It just looks so much better and, to be able to alter the size of your shelf when placing cups, glasses into a shelf. Which helps maximize more space for other items depending on the size. Hint - when you put food in canisters, it’s easy to forget the expiration date. So underneath take a little bit of masking tape and write the expiration date at the bottom of the jar. So when you need to know the expiration date for those items just lift the jar and look underneath.

I'm planning to redo my kitchen (original 1960/61) but until then, I'm making minor improvements and here are some tips I've learned along the way:
Idk what your budget is, but if possible, consider adding soft close door hinges and drawer slides - they're amazing!
Shelf liner has saved my outdated kitchen (& I plan on putting clear shelf liner in when I remodel to protect everything and make it easier to clean!)
If you're doing solid and unpainted wood, Murphy's Oil Soap and Lemon Oil will be your best friends (this goes for any solid wood furniture and cabinetry)
If you currently have unpainted wood, a good sanding and a couple coats of polyurethane will take about a week if you're doing it after work and it'll cost under $50 and you'll feel like you have new cabinets. Use sponge brushes to poly and wipe the poly off to prevent bubbles. You want a VERY thin layer (& if you mess up, sand it down and start over).
Butcher block countertops are GORGEOUS but also expensive to get custom made. If you want one on a budget, consider a wooden workshop bench (you can get one from most home improvement stores). Sand it smooth, coat with a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil (you can easily find a recipe online) to protect it! Did this in my kitchen and turned a poorly placed upper cabinet into a lower cabinet w/ a bar top for under $200 and it looks phenomenal.
Plan for the placement of your appliances before you consider cabinet arrangements; make sure you have a comfortable triangle (or triangle-ish) shape between your stove, fridge, and sink and make sure you've got a good amount of counter space to set groceries down and prep food.
Idk if any of that will help you but if not, hopefully it'll help someone 😅

Hi Drew! I just saw Elysia’s video and wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your representative for helping her. You are so sweet and if I could reach out through this screen I would give you a hug. I’m just so touched and impressed that you would take time out of your busy schedule and help someone you’ve never met before. God bless you! 💗🦊

I throughly enjoy how a lot of the jarred items would make a transition to low waste shopping pretty easy

Beautiful makeover! Love the black fireplace, the new placement of the sofas, the new dining table but i think you should keep the rust carpet you had in the living room, it is so beautiful. Don’t get rid of it.
