But this is just the tip of the ice berg as Curry will no doubt admit if pressed. In 20-25 years avg global temps will be 2 C above 1880. This will mean 3-5 C avg inc over our norrhern grain belts during the summer. Kiss civilization good bye! Famine will rule. Unfortunately warm oceanic temps are also driving fish away feom the tropics where water temps have always been warm. Kiss your tropical fisheries, sea grass meadows, and reefs goodbye. 2 billion people in Asia depend on fish for their protein. The Chinese now send giant fishing vessels across the Pacific to fish off the coasts of the Galapagos! HELLO! We reached peak fish in the mid 90s. In 2005 we hit peak arable land and 40% of our soils are in a degraded state. Peak global oil was probably hit in Nov of 2018. No one in their right mind could possibly believe we can sustain the continued growth of the global economy at its present rate of about 3%. The US economy hit a peak sometime in the 70s and has been slowly falling since then. If we continue at present global rate we double the global economy by 2045! That's approx double the mineral extraction and double the pollution. All I can say is it doesn't take a genius to know collapse is inevitable. The banking instability is in part a symptom of the world's inability to provide the cheap energy necessary. It will be impossible for the frackers and deep sea operations to continue to meet demand. Eventually it all falls apart. We are living at the end of a good run. I don't know what will emerge but it will not be condusive to human flourishing. Good luck!

Your argument that humans aren’t causing the situation is pretty negligent being that humans are the only ones capable of changing the situation and the situation will kill us all if we don’t. Same goes for the argument that third world places should have the same opportunity at pollution that first world countries had. Of course these countries have access to technologies which have been developed by now. It’s pretty regressive to encourage the point of view that there is no helping them advance without the same kind of pollution we had. It’s frankly completely immaterial, they will die along with us if we don’t change things. It’s useless to fight for the status quo. We need to change the status quo. Plain and simple. The dolphins and octopuses can’t do it for us. What is the argument? There is no excess in the predictions, wind patterns are changing. Winter is coming later as well as staying later each year. Summer is hotter and dryer year after year consistently. Not just during the peaks. There are lows but year after year we break modern temperature records and that ignores entirely the period from 1970-1985 where records may not have been as good. Farmers have needed to keep good records of these things for hundreds of years though so that’s a bit purist towards the sciences. You think normal people aren’t paying attention? Cause they very much are and climate change is most definitely impacting lifestyles. You won’t notice until there simply isn’t enough food or water to go around. At which point your lack of self sufficiency will be your undoing. Mark my words, this is coming if we don’t act against it right NOW. Who is to blame (is definitely humans) is completely immaterial! Humans are the only ones with the ability to predict it and act against it.
