Being from a family of creatives whose motto was to produce not to consume was etched into Kyle from a very early age and being educated at home gave him many opportunities to work hard at his own creative pursuits.
In the early years, information was hard to find, there was no online content and only a few books and videos, so it was a lot of trial and error in the knife shop. Kyle is passionate to teach makers his more than fourteen years of experience.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” We hope we can inspire you on your maker’s journey.

it would be cool to cast these in a clear resin mold shaped like the original knife/something similar! im not sure if you dabble in that kind of stuff, but those pieces would make for a sick "cooled down molten rock" look
Beautiful, but useless. I wouldn't try cutting anything with this knife. Jewelry.
Now guys this will be up on my site for $2,000 🥴 me with 2 bucks in my hand!
Dope
That's a beautiful blade, which, evidently, has required a masterful level of skill to achieve. However, unless the steel originates from Damascus, referring to it as Experimental Fearher Pattern Damascus is somewhat misleading. Instead, more accurate terms would be Welded Pattern Steel or Fearher- Pattern Steel or similar.
WOW....bout all I can say
That black mirror ball was so shiny you could see the reflection of the cameraman. fabulous peice of work.
That's awesome!
Wow
Absolutely . Fucking. Beautiful 😍 i'd love the same finish for a Nakiri
Annnnnnnnnd that's a sub
I didn’t know howtobasic started making knives
All I can say is... exquisite. That's how you work for it
Love the attention to sound design, the fact that you overlapped the sound after speeding up the video with the original, non-sped-up sound, was very appreciable to me!
What’s a knife like this cost if someone wanted to buy it
Gorgeous, a true work of art.
I thought we were talking about the drug lol
This is super cool
Wow, I have seen a lot of videos regarding crafts and metalwork, however nothing as well detailed. I admire your skill and enjoyed the production of the video. The piece its self is beyond me truly apreciating, other then to simply say "wow" :)
You should try to replicate this knife but x100% quality
sweet look
You are very impressive at this blade making malarkey(edit…that blade looks amazing mate👍)
Beautiful
My dude turned on ray tracing to film this knife

The effort you go through for precision is just incredible. This is becoming one of my favorite channels.
What a amazing pattern can’t even see it till the acid bath 🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful. Awesome. I've never used ferric chloride. I have used for formic acid before. But that was back in the 80s. I don't even know if ferric chloride was around then.
WOW😮
Amazing design and knife you have a great craft and gift…….
That’s Badass 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Omg just when I thought it couldn’t get any better 😮😮 can you make a Damascus cane shotgun sword all white ivory like and sell it for like 100k 😂😂😂
That's a nice knife.
Fine work
I’ve been a smith for years and the skills involved in your blade making are, quite frankly, mind blowing. If ever a bladesmith could be seen as an artist first and a smith second, you sir, are that man. Thank you for sharing this with us.
The mythical ability of a blacksmith isn't just the ability to create a piece of art. It is the ability to recreate this piece of art down to a tee. And yet... it stays mythical for it always being a one of a kind knife of which none other exists quite like this. Even if built the same way, the pattern is always a new sight to behold. Love it so much, you have no idea how much I'd love owning one of those just to have it on display.
Sem dúvida é uma obra de arte parabéns amigo
I would call that a success
Beautiful
