First saw this like 30 yrs ago and from time to time I would remember this about the Japanese sword maker and all the work by hand the love that goes into each never 2 the same swords and the work of the man. Now by accident I was looking for something else and found it again. What a treat. Thank u
As a mechanical engineer ….Sir you are blessed
Amazing. The Japanese culture and its artisans are incredible to see. Thanks for sharing.
The use of two boys with big hammers is basically what a modern power hammer is used for, but it also teaches them how to properly beat metal and has a lot more control. When he hits it after they are done, it is to check to see if his forge welds are properly set. If it is good, it'll sound solid, otherwise, it will sound like smacking two pieces of metal.
The honor and ability put into every aspect, of the soulful creativity and wielding the elements of the earth....
No es facil de digerir. Por suerte el aikido ha evolucionado (aunque en demasiadas variantes).
Would love to have a sword crafted while I watch the whole process in person
nice sword...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Samurai ghost of Tsushima
20:00 Mother pucker just tried describing an art that takes a lifetime to achieve with play-doh. Yes play-doh 20:00
Kids stuff ....
Remember the Bataan Death March, the Rape of Nanking and Pearl Harbor.
Remember the Batman
A drill to make a hole; the only machinary they used during entire process. Never seen such a detailed sword- making video. Truly ancient and remarkable.
So many wonderful swords with history I myself would prefer a saber with hand protection . And something lighter and more nimble
The only questionable issue is when at the start of the video it shows the sword maker examining some iron ore samples by eye-sight and selecting the proper ones , according to perhaps colours and texture ; to determine if the ?manganese alloy is enough to help with hardness depth ; if there is enough chromium alloy and nickel alloy , enough to guard vs rusting , and if the carbon % vs iron lies between at least SAE specs of 1080 to SAE specs <1095-ideal. and/or the NICKEL content is
Cult behavior.
Awesome! I love that the forge fire comes from the iron originally.
legacy Yoshihara....
Simply beautiful!
This is like a David Attenborough video, Sooo soothing to the ear
